Wedger Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 Probably gone further afield but look out for an Orkney 590TT 60hp mariner 4 stroke with Mariner aux. White with brown antifoul.- Name Samoya. Stolen last night between 23.30 and 05.30 from a farm yard Wimborne area. Was wheel clamped. Fence cut and dragged out backwards. Quote
Graham Nash Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 I hope you get it back but as you say, it's probably further afield and for that reason I hope you had insurance. I have mine locked up in my locked yard with cctv all over it, but if the scumbags wanted it I am sure they would get it. Quote
Rob Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 Trev - your associate should perhaps get it listed here: http://www.stolenboats.org.uk/ Wih serial numbers etc for the hull and engines. Quote
Wedger Posted July 30, 2010 Author Report Posted July 30, 2010 (edited) Thanks Rob I gave him the site details a few hours ago but I don't think he's had chance to list it yet. After looking at the site I found that the police or insurance company have to request a listing. Edited July 30, 2010 by Wedger Quote
Jim Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 If they shoot them when they catch them, They can't re-offend and us Tax Payers don't have to pay to keep them. Locksmiths and Alarm firms might suffer though ! Jim Quote
mike02380 Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 shooting is a bit harsh jim, maybe just a public flogging joking aside i hope the offenders are caught. Quote
biggcol Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 Just to warn locals in Redhill area, travellers have moved into town down by Cherry Tree nursery , Northbourne roundabout. Might be worth a look Trev if you brave enough! Colin Quote

Wedger Posted July 30, 2010 Author Report Posted July 30, 2010 Thanks for your support chaps! Not my boat but it felt like mine had gone at the time. Such a personal thing is heartbreaking. I wouldn't give it much more than angry inconvenience if it was my car but my boat is my mistress Quote
Wedger Posted August 4, 2010 Author Report Posted August 4, 2010 If you get offered a 60hp Mariner 4 stroke or a 5 hp Mariner please check the serial numbers. The steering and throttle controls went too. We suspect that the stainless hardware will turn up at the boat jumbles as it was all carefully removed, nuts and bolts too. The next local one is Portsmouth I believe 22nd August. Quote
Brian Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 (edited) If you get offered a 60hp Mariner 4 stroke or a 5 hp Mariner please check the serial numbers. Which are? I'm looking for an auxillary motor, so I'll keep my eyes open. Edited August 4, 2010 by Brian Quote
Graham Nash Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I have my boat locked up in my yard. Yesterday when i got home i realised someone had been playing with my lock so checked my CCTV to see a large white van pull up behind my place twice within a minute (my back yard is down an access road so there is rarely any need for anyone to drive down there). 10 minutes later someone was trying to fathom out the code on my barrel lock on my gates. Unfortunately the angle of my CCTV did not give a view of the van number plates nor was it able to recognise the face of the person attempting to get in, but beware everyone out there. There are scum bags about! Quote
Wedger Posted August 4, 2010 Author Report Posted August 4, 2010 Which are? I'm looking for an auxillary motor, so I'll keep my eyes open. I'll ask for them Brian. I understand a hull was found near Fordingbridge recently. Apparently stolen in the same way as the one from here - by cutting fences and dragged across fields. scum bags Quote
