Jim
Just called in to Brian's This Afternoon. He's added some very nice enhancements to Megabyte. If we ask him nicely, he may post some photos. I intend to make similar improvements to Small Fry soon. Warrior owners ( and others ) will be very interested to see them. Well done Brian. plaicemat
Thank you for that, Adam. Yes, it is on the list. I have the details of where to buy the stuff you used but, can you please tell me how you cut it? Terry. p.s. Belay that. I seem to have lost the name of the supplier and the material, can you give it to me again please, Adam. Brian
Terry I see in your photos that you've got a kettle, what arrangement have you got for the gas ring? I've got one of the camping stoves that contains the gas cylinder, is that what you use? Edited July 10, 2011 by Brian
plaicemat
Yes, Brian, I use the same stove. I have a bracket that clips to the top of the cabinet to keep it steady. Useful for bacon butties when codding, too. Terry.
Adam F
Terry, There is a thread somewhere on here, but in summary - I used Lexan Marguard - bought from a supplier on Ebay - in 6mm (I think) This is is the stuff riot shields are made from and is as clear as glass but 200x stronger and is scratch resistant. I took off the old windows as a template, rough cut within 2/3mm with a slow fine jigsaw (to avoid melting the plastic) and then clamped the template to the rough cut and used a laminate trimmer in a router to get an exact cut (it's a little tricky but doubale as you need to ensure the roller sits on the thin old window. I think I also put a 45deg bevel on the ouside edge. Thats the hard bit - I didnt bother bolting the new windows except for a couple on the side windows to ensure they bend slightly around the cuddy, I just bedded them in on a bed of black sikaflex. Hope that helps. Adam
plaicemat
Thanks for that, Adam, just what I was looking for. I owe you one. Terry.
