Adam F Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 We've been deliberating this one for a while - do we dont we etc... Well I took the plunge this week and just went for it - in my eyes it's an essential for the boat - a simply must have. I must say it's pretty high tec - it's taken me all morning to work out how it works. In all seriousness - this is exactly what I have bought! A bargin at 99p from Ikea. I have bought 2 LCD clocks this year and within 3 months the cold in the wheelhouse seems to kill them - this is a low tech solution. I have found that having a clock in easy view in the wheelhouse is so helpful especially when doing long journeys and or passage plans. Adam Quote
pirky Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Adam .... I agree 100% and have put the time on display on my plotter.....problem is it is too small to see clearly at the helm or when fishing...... simple stick pad on helm with one of those and that will do for me !! Where's my wallet !! Dave Quote
Graham Nash Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Where's my wallet !! Dave It was 99p Dave ... you don't need your wallet, just the change from your next pint :-) Quote
Ian.Jones Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Adam Does this mean I owe you 33p...... Merry Christmas Ian Quote
great white Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I saw this post title Then thought that I wish that I had not just had to treat the boat to a new set of batteries , as I was sure that JV would have had the AIS or a heater that I would rather have spent my money on. But for JV a very modest investment [i added an identical one after parking in Ikea for the boat show] It works fine, matches the cabin colour scheme and has an alarm function. You may need to add blue tac, as they weigh very little and keep falling over. Charlie Quote
