First Big Fish After A Day On The Sky....

After loads of wasted trips around poole bay, I decided that wrecking would be the best choice for my first big fish....

Perfect conditions and advice from charlie, led me and the old man to the aeolian sky...

To many a member this would be beginners stuff lol...

To me, it was the first wreck ive found and seen on the FF/Plotter...

Played about anchoring, Messed up a fair few times, But got lucky...

At our furthest point off the wreck during the day, And downtide from it, We had the most luck :-/

3 congers to dad,And a large pout to me on feathers....and a few doggies....

A charter then turned up, And showed us how the anchoring was done (Although we knew,Its alot harder then it sounds) lol....

Once we re-anchored over the wreck, My luck came in... My first fight, And nice conger....

And a nice pollock to dad...

But no action on the charter, (Fishing really can be a fluke)

Was funny being asked by a charter skipper what i was reeling up, to witch my response was "God knows, Ive never caught a big fish" ;-)

Excellent day out.. And although in years to come days like this would be rubbish, Its the best day so far and a good laugh for me and dad...

I'm so pleased for you, it will get even better as you progress through the learning curve so long as you are prepared to listen and learn.  You're in the right place to gain that expertise and you have made a blinding start

Well Done

Martin

Well done JW.

Great way to break your duck. And on a wreck as well. There'll be no holding you now!

Your Dad must be pleased (and a bit proud of you too).

Love those bending rod pics, nothing like it is there?

superb JW .... Charlie is a great help (and inspiration) to us beginners. I went on Alfresco with them last year and could not believe their disapointment with single figure Pollack, but once he found the right wreck and the right drift I could see why!

Keep at it, keep learning and it just gets better and better ... be be ready to accept bad days too tho.

Well done Jamie

As I said in the PM , I wish I had been there to see your face

Very Very glad to help.

Sky is a bit differant than most, there are some bits scattered around that when you swing off the main wreck you actually start to fish them with some interesting results.

You will now get bigger and better fish, but it will take a while to beat the thrill of the first good one.

Charlie
