JIMBOB Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 Couldnt resist another go out there wednesday eve as it looks like the last window for a while, settled in to the fishing by about 8pm with Mark as crew, bass was the main target but as mark has yet to land one this year! he did his trick of hooking either a large ray or conger on very light gear! lol and landing it! and I think his one out did his 19lbs undulate on a spinning rod!!, He had hooked in to the biggest conger to come aboard Dawn raider ( Tara was the Big conger boat ) and in only 30 ish feet of water! The eel came to the boat with ease to start with. It didnt no it was hooked ................... Then as I saw it and said to mark "thats a bloody big eel" it turned in a mighty thrash and ran down tide like nothing ive ever seen! His face was a picture as he cried "grab the butt pad" his 12lb class rod was flat lined and bending at the butt! Its amazing what these light rods can take and soon it was tamed I lip gaffed it and my berkley 100lb digis finally weighed a fish over 5olbs @53 1/2 lbs with a bit of its tail still on the deck! well done mark great Angling! and a fine inshore conger I got a baby conger and a couple of good sized bass so was another good night Quote
