Kingfisher 126 Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Kingfisher is in, Any rules that can be looked at, or just most species caught? Cheers Quote
Neal Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Posted July 24, 2012 General rules apply. Maximum 3 hooks, maximum 2 Rods per person - most species caught per boat. I am in the process of writing a set of rules for competitions - to save any future confusion. This will be separate from the constitution changes / clarifications that have been highlighted recently. Quote
Neal Posted July 24, 2012 Author Report Posted July 24, 2012 1) Court Jester - Neal, Jim, Dave 2) Alfresco 3 Kingfisher Quote
Leicester Fisheagle Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 As the number of species to count appears to be per boat rather than per individual would fish caught on my boat by a none club member count? Allan. Quote
Neal Posted July 26, 2012 Author Report Posted July 26, 2012 As long as more than one person is on the boat (for safety reasons) that is ok Neal Quote
Leicester Fisheagle Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Thanks for the clarification Neal. The reason behind the question was that 3 Club Members who come out at different times and are familiar with the area and what is likely to be caught are unavailable (one wife's birthday, one own birthday and one hoping to sell his boat to someone coming up from London on Sunday). Allan. Quote
Maverick Martin Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 most species caught per boat. So as not to disadvantage smaller boats should that not read per person? thats how our species comps have all been fished in the past Martin Quote
Leicester Fisheagle Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Favour individual rather than boat myself. Looks as if I will be struggling for crew versitile enough and may not be able to fish as the people I had in mind are not available. Any offers? Allan. Quote
Neal Posted July 27, 2012 Author Report Posted July 27, 2012 Just trying to keep it simple for everyone! List the number of species per individual and the total number for the boat. Neal Quote

Graham Nash Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 I went out ... motored over to Christchurch Ledge at about 20 knotts, limped back at 8 knotts at times. Waves breaking over the top of us and our fuel supply rapidly running out!! 70 litres of fuel and a pretty grotty trip with nothing to report apart from mackerel ..... hundreds of em!!! Quote
Jim Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Went out with Neal and his mate Dave. Got a few Mackerel and a Scad for bait Went out further for Rays etc. Dave had a Blonde and a Bass. Neal had a Gurnard. I had a Tope. I also had a sleep, the rough sea took it's toll on me and I felt quite sick. We all had plenty of Doggies. Dave had a big Tope that let go at the surface. He kept lowering the bait again and it would follow but wouldn't take it. Back into the harbour and tied up to a bouy - nothing but weed. Moved in front of the Castle for some Wrasse, Pollack and baby Pout. Neal's got a list of who caught what but I think it was a total of 11 species for the boat. Shame that the rough sea got to me, but all in all I enjoyed myself. Thanks very much Neal - and Dave, it was good to be afloat again. Jim Quote
Rob Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Well done, god to blow out the cobwebs no doubt Jim!! Rob Quote
Kingfisher 126 Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Left Cobbs not a flag flying so calm. Decided to head west and have some fun. Training bank for some baby pollock for some bass bait then off west. WRONG, a different world at the lighthouse, turn about to Swanage Bay. Picked up mackerel on the way. Charter boats stacked up in there, dropped anchor on Evans rock. 30 mins later Dive charter boat asked us to leave so they could dive, reponse ended in OFF!!! LSD's and wrasse. Got bored after an hour so had a wounder to a few marks but wind against tide was a waste of time, facing one way in the wind and line passing the anchor with the tide!! Into the harbour and pick up a bouy for a relax and easy fishing! A plaice the size of a saucer and enough seaweed to keep Japan going for a year!!! Lines up and time for a pint instead! Back at Cobbs by 3. What I got: Pollock Ballon Wrasse Mackerel LSD Plaice and the right hump!! (Wind & weed) Well done anyone who kept going but after the Cobbs comp (Wind & rain) the other week you can only have so much fun for the sake of it!! Chris Quote
