Brian Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 Just heard via another club member (James Morgan), who was one of the 7 who had an engine stolen, that the police have recovered 7 outboards in the north of england. So far they haven't confirmed they are ours, but the descriptions appear match. Watch this space. Quote

Wedger Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Well that would be a result I think. Let's hope they are not damaged and the insurance will pay for refit and making good. I seriously hope this means those responsible have been collared ready for locking up! Best of luck to you all. Quote

If the cover is damaged, I shall try to get a new one off the insurance as there wasn't a mark on it before. Quote

Good News Brian Gives us back a bit more faith in the police. I hope the bastards get what they deserve and you get the engines back in good order. Charlie Quote
Leicester Fisheagle Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 Really pleased. It still doesn't make up for all the aggro and stress you have had to endure plus loss of boat etc. I was very concerned about cut backs in the Marine Police and it's possible demise which was hinted at during the last Club Meeting. Surely, given the importance of boats and boating to the local economy and the Marine Industry as well as Tourism etc. this should be something all local stakeholders should be fighting to support and retain? Brian Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 I've been told the engines have arrived back at Rockley, so I'll be down there tomorrow morning to see what sort of condition they're in. Quote
Brian Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Seen them, they're in terrible condition. Quote
niggle Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Oh that's not good, more time hassling the insurance. Quote
Brian Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Yes. Cover damaged, gearbox removed, lots of knocks and scratches and that's just at first glance. It looks as though they've been dragged along the ground. Quote
