nightingale300 Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 Dont get many fine days like today. It was good to get dad out on his own boat today but a shame he didn't connect with any fish. My brother Andrew had 8 bream the best 2lb 2oz and I had 6 bream the best going 2lb 11oz caught on a whole side of mackerel to try and tempt a ray. Anyway great day had by all. Paul J Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Thanks Andy, I was wondering if the ledge was fishing at all? it does not seem like its started properly yet not that I've spent much time there lately. The water has cleared though, until it rains again PJ Quote
alun j. Posted May 19, 2014 Author Report Posted May 19, 2014 Ledge fished well [briefly, when big tide fell right] last Wes and Thurs Quote
iansimpson63 Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 I was lucky enough to crew for Neal on Court Jester and we had a fantastic day with scores of Bream up to 2lb15oz and averaging 2ib 4oz. I had a real education in the fine art of Bream bites as well as how to communicate with Jet Ski riders. Good to meet quite a few club members on the water and back at the weigh in, club fees were worth it for Sunday alone. Cheers Ian Paul J, Jim and Stuie 3 Quote
Ark Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 What an enjoyable day around the bay. Lots of bream biggest to me 3lb 7 oz got me 4 th in the angling shop comp. Jacob had a cracking 11 lb 3 oz small eyed, and good old Dave topped up my specie hunt. We had some good banter with Charlie and crew, we should have tied up to him we were so close. You don't get to many days like that at sea. Thanks Dave and Jacob for the company, we will have to come on the new boat to get your species going Hope she gets here soon And Adam your new boat looks a beauty and sounds good to Kev and Jacob Stuie, sparky, Jim and 1 other 4 Quote
Jim Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 how to communicate with Jet Ski riders. Yeah ! The term " Shrinking Violet " could never be used to describe Neal . Jet skiers seem to struggle to understand that other water users are happy to see them at a distance but not close up at silly speeds. Good on yer Neal. Jim Quote
rich185 Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 What a lovely day to be out and managed 8 bream best one to emma which was 2lb 6oz, also managed to catch my first garfish using a float and squid bait. Nice to see lots of club boats out again, a really enjoyable day. Well done everyone. Rich. Stuie 1 Quote
