Coddy Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 The developer, Atlas Partners, has submitted plans for a new marina development in Poole Harbour that could take over the site of Sydenhams Timber Yard above Poole Bridge. Situated on the Hamworthy side, the new residential development will offer 365 apartments and incorporate a 900-berth marina. Ground floor retail and business spaces for cafes, shops, restaurants and galleries, plus pedestrian and cycle routes through the site, will be added to encourage visitors. Sydenhams Timber Yard has been operating on the 4-acre Hamworthy Wharf site, where it was founded, since 1874 and, now with branches throughout the UK and having ‘outgrown’ the site, it will be relocating to new premises elsewhere. Maverick Martin Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Looking at the Atlas Partners details I can see no mention of 900 berths and the marina will be for residents of the new apartments. Looking at their drawings is looks likely to be a micro Marina of approximately 25/30 berths Jim 1 Quote
Brian Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 900 berths? That's 50 more than Cobbs Quay, they'd have to be very small berths. Quote
Kingfisher 126 Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 https://www.atlaspartnersgroup.co.uk/content/uploads/2017/01/here..pdf Worth a look at, anyone with a few quid laying around get your deposit in! Quote

Jim Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 They've already spent a few quid on the plans and VR 3D modelling. Usually they have a good idea that these plans ( or something similar ) will get through. They're trying to " Posh up " the quay area to bring dosh into the area. ( No point wasting any effort on Me then ) Quote
Steve S Posted August 2, 2017 Report Posted August 2, 2017 Looks very well thought out, ticking all the council's objective boxes. Clearly has been with detailed consultation with the council. Even includes 96 public parking places. Will further progress the gentification of Poole, as to whether you think that's a good thing or not... Quote
