plaicemat Posted June 9, 2020 Report Posted June 9, 2020 Am I the only one who didn't know this? A really good tip for putting the line on a fixed spool reel to avoid any tangles, why isn't this put on the box? Terry. Colin-58, Brian, Greg and 4 others 6 1 Quote
Maverick Martin Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 Me but have you seen this spooler ? Alternatively use a multiplier lol Quote
Jim Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 I was convinced he was going to Bash a BIG nail in there to hold it down. When I try that it leaps up and runs across the floor. But if you listen to what he says about the correct way because of the memory. He then sits it in warm water to " reset the memory" So it sounds like " wind it anyway you want " and leave it in the water long enough to drink a bottle of Doombar. Jim Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 Very good Martin. Do I still get the Doombar ? Quote

Bobby Buoy Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 Would this apply to multipliers as well? I often get line snagged in mine. It somehow forms a loop and it then passes through the loop and jams up. Must be doing something wrong. Any ideas? Quote
Greg Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 Rob That’s because you take your thumb off the spool too soon you dumb ass. But there, you are young and you will soon learn 🤞🤞 Maverick Martin 1 Quote
biggcol Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 Another tip you might find helpful. When using the rod butt to hold the reel thread the line through the rod ring on the butt, then hold the butt so that the line is vertical over the spool ,this will stop the spool jumping around. Having been a tournament caster for many years, respooling reels is part of the sport 😜 sometimes 20 times in a tournament. Multiplier or fixed spool the same principle applies when spooling. niggle, Mal Thomas, Greg and 2 others 5 Quote
