Greg Posted October 12, 2020 Report Posted October 12, 2020 It's great to see the Club organising Competitions again. It will be great to get out for a day without having to track a trace!! Because of the Track and Trace system I have been like a hermit for the last 6 months not being able to go to pubs, restaurants and venues as I can not afford to be off of work due to someone invading my space with COVID. I hope the weather stays good for the comp and I hope a lot of club members support it. Greg Jim, jerry.shutter and Kingfisher 126 3 Quote

jerry.shutter Posted October 13, 2020 Author Report Posted October 13, 2020 With the weather being pretty unpleasant over the last couple of weeks I hope we will definitely hold the Competition on the 24th and 25th even if we have to confine it to the harbour. This will make it an even more level playing field for all the different boats in the club. Keep the enthusiasm going and beat the winter blues!!! Jim and Brian 2 Quote

great white Posted October 20, 2020 Report Posted October 20, 2020 Hi Jerry I see the forecast getting worse every time I check. Are you still hoping to fish this weekend, regardless of the weather. To be honest I would rather postpone by two weeks to the next set of smaller tides in November, but that is only my opinion the decision is rightfully with the committee. jerry.shutter Posted October 20, 2020 Author Report Posted October 20, 2020 I think we need to leave it 24 hrs before a decision is made, at the moment it’s not looking too good I agree, though things do seem to change a lot at short notice. Quote

Mal Thomas Posted October 21, 2020 Report Posted October 21, 2020 The weather looks very blowy at the moment, even in the Harbour, launching and retrieving can become difficult in such conditions. I believe it would be prudent to be very cautious. Force 4 being the best I can see at the moment. Colin-58 1 Quote
Maverick Martin Posted October 21, 2020 Report Posted October 21, 2020 If its a force 4 depending on direction of wind fishing in Poole harbour would be fine. Launching from Baiter maybe problematic for some. That said its not my call....thankfully Quote
