great white Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 Looks like there may be another chance to get out at the weekend. Dan is away on the snow , so I will have space for a couple of crew if anyone fancies a trip out to get rid of the cobwebs. Let me know on here or give me a call Charlie Quote
Baf Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 Hi Charlie I would be interested if you don't mind. Quote
great white Posted January 8 Author Report Posted January 8 PM me your number mate and I will call you. Quote
Graham Nash Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 if there's still a space Id be happy to join you. Let me know. Quote
great white Posted January 10 Author Report Posted January 10 Not a problem Graham. At the moment it was just Brian and I. Please PM me your number and I will call Probably meet just before 8, head out to anchor in the 50/50 area on the slackening flood tide. Once the Ebb gets going we may need to move to escape the strong tide for the last couple of hours Graham Nash 1 Quote
Bobby Buoy Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 Hoping to get out Saturday or Sunday whichever is lighter winds. It's a big tide though. what area would you go to get out of the worst of the ebb tide? Quote
great white Posted January 12 Author Report Posted January 12 I am going to start on the 50 50. Then move to a shallower area when the tide gets strong Quote
Bobby Buoy Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Might see you out there Charlie. Greg joining me and will be going out on the 8.30 Bridge. Quote
Bobby Buoy Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 We went to the Sadler and had a steady flow of whiting. Not many keepers amongst them though. Pout and a few dogfish but surprisingly no conger. The ebb tide this afternoon did slow down the catch rate once it got going. Not many others out there. jerry.shutter, Kingfisher 126, dicky and 4 others 7 Quote
great white Posted January 13 Author Report Posted January 13 Well done. We were a bit further out Had half a dozen rays and a decent Spurdog Plus the usual dogs whiting pout and small conger. A really nice day out there except for the chilly breeze. Quite surprised that there were not many boats near us. Stuie, jerry.shutter, Steve S and 6 others 9 Quote

great white Posted January 14 Author Report Posted January 14 You arevery welcome Brianand Graham. Glad we managed to keep the rods nodding. Quote
Greg Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 Thank you Rob for the invite out on Sea Kestrel for the annual Whiting trip 😀 Hope they were cooked special and tasted good. Nice to be out again after a long time ashore. Love your new boat, solid in the water and very comfortable for travelling and fishing 👍 It was healthy to see so many large shoals of bait fish passing by on the sounder. Fishing was good too with activity most of the day. Thanks again, Greg Jim 1 Quote
