Looks like there may be another chance to get out at the weekend. 

 

Dan is away on the snow , so I will have space for a couple of crew if anyone fancies a trip out to get rid of the cobwebs.

Probably meet just before 8, head out to anchor in the 50/50 area on the slackening flood tide.

 

Once the Ebb gets going we may need to move to escape the strong tide for the last couple of hours

Hoping to get out Saturday or Sunday whichever is lighter winds. It's a big tide though. what area would you go  to get out of the worst of the ebb tide?

I am going to start on the 50 50.

Then move to a shallower area when the tide gets strong

We went to the Sadler and had a steady flow of whiting. Not many keepers amongst them though. Pout and a few dogfish but surprisingly no conger. The ebb tide this afternoon did slow down the catch rate once it got going. Not many others out there.

We were a bit further out

 

Had half a dozen rays and a decent Spurdog

Plus the usual dogs whiting pout and small conger.

 

A really nice day out there except for the chilly breeze.

Quite surprised that there were not many boats near us.

Nice to be out again after a long time ashore. Love your new boat, solid in the water and very comfortable for travelling and fishing 👍

 

It was healthy to see so many large shoals of bait fish passing by on the sounder.

 

Fishing was good too with activity most of the day.
