Coddy Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 My son was telling me that the US Coastguards spend a week of being strapped in their boats and rolled over and over until they feel confident in any conditions! Not quite how they train the RNLI boat crews! Coddy Quote

Paul J Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 I bet they are wearing crotch straps though PJ Quote
great white Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 You should see the training tank in the RNLI College when they wind up the wind machines it gets so rough it makes the experianced crews sea sick They also black out the room, have strobe machines and huge speakers making it sound like a storm as well as feel like one. They can invert the RIB in the tank I believe that the RNLI consider it safer than taking a boat out on the sea as they used to. I wanted to have a go, but they only do RNLI crews Charlie Quote
