Big day today.....

Bob turns up at 1pm with the last of the steering fluid, Ive been down the petrol station and have 25L of your finest diesel, and after 30 frantic minutes of configerting the ECU Bob pops out a 10p piece and flips me for it....

....heads - Bob's honour. (oh well, that means I get to drive it first!! tongue.gif )

Drum roll.......

........click........BRRRRRRRMMMMMM!!!!! biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Sweet, sweet sound, as she purs away.

Another big milestone, now we just have a 2 page snagging / last job list to complete!

Well done guys

Good toss to win Bob biggrin.gif

Really pleased that all works and all the ECU's are talking

Dan was really pleased to hear and equally pleased not to be in your garden, if Bob was having one of his hugs and kisses moments wink.giflaugh.gif

I am sure you will soon work through the list and move her to Parkstone Bay. We look forward to seeing you on the briney.

Yep, pleased as punch. I was kissing anything that moved!!

Can't beleave she started on the first turn of the key without any cranking.

The only slight snag is that we noticed water leaking from the big baffles that come from the back of the leg into the transom. Not sure if this is normal or not. The water was being fed into the leg via some water muffs.

wow - seems like only yesterday you were starting the project (to me!)

can you explain the baffles and transom bit a little more? presume the water is the indirect cooling water leg -> cooler -> exhaust elbow -> exhaust system but that shouldn't be linked to anything that's open to the inside of the transom!

You should have asked for my assistance at the toss Adam, I've been told I'm a first class Tosser !

Well Done Lads.

Don't forget the anti-freeze if you have fresh water cooling as well ohmy.gif

Started to get cold and I would hate to hear that we had a very cold night and things started to freeze.

Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone.

Ducan, Tom,

It's the lower bellows that connects from the pivot housing to the transom plate exhaust (all outside the boat). Secured by two big jubilee clips. Water is dripping from either end of the bellows.

Coddy, yes, anti-freeze is in the system. Have to have it all year round.

cheers

Sounds OK if that's the exhaust bellows as it's 'wet' and primarily concerned with carrying the exhaust gas to the through hub exhaust (you don't want loads of air bubbles in the water in front of the prop! I don't even get bellows for this on my drive.

if it was the other one, the U joint bellows, that's dry and needs to stay that way for obvious reasons.

then there's the cable bellows but that's small and dry....

I guess I can see some logic in drain holes in this as there is no point storing sea water in this area if the boats out and stored but I would certainly be checking the j clips are appropriately tight.
