alun j.
Such bad luck !! It's hard to believe that something so little used can be that badly made \ faulty !! Knowing how you appreciate quality, I'm sure that when you do resolve what to do Martin.......it will be done properly, then will work as it should ... for many years to come. Good luck in getting sorted for May............may the force be with you!! Cheers, Alun.
gaffa
What a Bummer! Sorry to hear the news Martin Must be like being between a rock and a hard place . General Consensus on the web indicates that Steyr engines are pretty tough but I can understand your reluctance to go down that route again. Dont envy you making a decision. Hope it all goes smoothly anyway and AWOL gets run in and ready for the Alderney Trip
Adam F
Sh$t! That is bad news, I really feel for you mate. Like others I can believe that something so new and with so few hours is virtually scrap?? Best of luck getting it sorted.
mw
Martin did they do a compression test if not the blue smoke could be from the turbo letting oil pass into the cylinders white smoke could just be a slight air leak they should know but I wouldnot trust them mark w
Osprey
Bad luck Martin. Have they told you it's scrap having established what the problem is, or are they stumped and have just given up without finding the cause? With the engine problems I am having with Osprey, I am wondering if you can trust any of these "experts". Terrible generalisation, I know, but it does make you lose confidence. Hope you get better luck soon Martyn

great white
I was going to say thats good news, but really it is not. However it is good that after all this time an end is in sight. Good luck with all the fitting and hope to see you in Braye Harbour. Charlie
Maverick Martin
Well the new engine left Austria on Monday and should arrive at Mermaid Marine on Friday. Mermaid has scheduled in Monday to fit the new engine and PMS are hopefully fitting the leg on Wednesday. If all this goes to plan then sea trials will take place on Thursday allowing us to depart for Alderney on Friday or maybe very early Saturday. Knowing my luck something is bound to go wrong
TomBettle
After my recent fun and games (long from being sorted), I am whincing as I say it Martin, but, the very best of luck!

Adam F
Fingers crossed mate! You wont get a newer engine to do the crossing with! If it helps at all (prob not) but Salterns / PMS are due to replace a trim sender on ours next week - if they are getting tight, we would be happy to wait until we get back and let you take their time for yours? Mike Fox
It's been a saga Martin, but it's nearly there now. Good luck with the sea trials, running in period, tweaks and adjustments that might be needed. If ever a man deserved a break! Best wishes, Mike
Osprey
Hope it all goes well Martin. I can understand the frustration. Mine's still not sorted, but that's nothing compared to the problems you've had. Still, a couple of Alderney grand slams will soon get you smiling!
