Well done Jerry and Kev. I managed to get Tigerfish out for a few hours in the late afternoon on the flood, there was continuous rain and as the evening gloom set in, fog. Being on my own so not needing to worry about everyone catching I had a go for bass with a whole bunch of different lures, catching as many bass as possible wasn't the objective, just trying to compares lures and fishing methods, ie a learning trip, catch a bass on one, switch lure. Best bass went around 6lb with some others of good size and a wrasse or two as well. The lure experiments are a work in progress, so no conclusions, needs many trips for that.

I too decided to give the constant rain a miss. Just about finished the bathroom project at the weekend, Wendy is very pleased with it, so I now need a weather window to use up the brownie points.

Very interesting indeed Brian, i put a new engine on my boat earlier this year and went through a process of testing 3 props, one aluminium 2 stainless, the advice i was given about the stainless was not correct it was a prop called appolo, the best prop i found , after doing very accutate tests up wareham channel was called balistic. it seem to out perform all the others at most stages from idle to flat out ,. at preferred cruising speed especially. i achieved a top speed of 28 m p h . o yes and by the way at 25 m p h i passed the only boa t visible in the whole area on a sunday afternoon which was harbour control. i did a quick u turn to explain my reasoning for being there, they gave me a positive response told me to be mindful of any other boats if i met any, and said they would look the other way . phew i thought my sense of humor and quick thinking honesty has probably just saved me£ 1000 fine and or 3 weeks porridge! after this testing i also had the pitch increased to add further fuel efficiency The Sharrow prop seems to suggest a further 15% fuel saving could be made. i will try and pursue this but dont expect it will be easy. i will do some research. and update my findings. price ? i think 1 and 1/2 to twice the price of normal stainless prop may be? With such few weather windows, a bit of rain wasn’t going to put us off chasing some flatties. After a slow start with some Red and Tub Gurnard and the odd Bream we found some Plaice. Kev joined us on Reel Busy, his fishing wardrobe hasn’t changed since August but he was happy and also supplied us with a full box of tea bags. Thanks Kev, J2 and Dave were cussing the skipper. When the tide was running we had a steady flow of Plaice, Dave outfished us with 2 triple shots and numerous doubles, the rain was continuous all day with little let up but the sea was glass like. We lost count of numbers, mostly small but enough for a couple of keepers each. Cracking day, good company and a fish for tea.

Wet but great day, lots of banter, lots of fish, and that dab moved Jerry up the leader board in the species hunt. First time in Jerry's new boat just superb. Many thanks to Jerry for the invite.

Just when most of us made the decision not to brave the rain i found out a couple of keen clubmates did , iam posting for them, their day was spent mostly catching Rays i am not going to post the coordinates on here as it is secret, "hint-hint". A grand total of 15 i believe, were hauled up biggest around 13 lb est, 3 varieties . interspersed with 8 doggies and a couple of mac. just in case anyone thinks they were mad going out in the rain i will not mention any names, Farmer Colin, P S I could not remember how big the mac was Frank and Jan!
