    Fishing Day Out.

Four married chaps had been planning a special fishing trip, but had had to do all sorts in order to be allowed to go. At last the day arrived and they were at out in the boat. The first one said , "I had to re-decorate the bathroom completely in order to come", , The second one said," I had to paint the whole outside of the house, front and back, before I was in the clear".. ,Number three said, "Thats nothing,I had to make her Mother and Sister welcome to stay with us for a week, and take them all shopping and touring every day." The fourth one said," I didn't have to do anything special at all". "well for goodness sake tell us how you did it ?" asked the others. "It was easy", he said, "As soon as I woke up this morning, I nudged my misses in the back and said," Fishing or Sex ?, and she said, "don't forget your flotation suit !!"

    Help

This may not be the place for this queery, but I have tried everything I know to sort this irratating problem. When I print off articles, especially those with full pages of script, for example our Bass fishing advice,I loose the last 8 or so digits/spaces from the script in each sentence, even though the paper has a margin of 15+ mm each side.I have re-calibrated my printer several times, even lying to attempt to gain more space on the right, without success.I have windows xp and feel sure there must be a way of altering margins on the printed page set-up so as to include all the lettering on each line..... I know I am a computor dummy, and yes I have looked in "'PC's for dummies",which I have found to be helpful usually, but I still cant find the cure. can anyone help ?jack

    Launch Areas

The boatyard at Ferrybridge has a great slip, usually fairly quiet, and puts you immediately into portland harbour, parking is on site,or if peak season, huge carpark 100yds away, can't say about price, perhaps one of our "geniuses" can pull you up a fancy little underlined job to click onto.....jack [2]..Mudiford car park has firm Harbour facing, beach launch ,in the extreme corner, pay car park, slip only charged w/ends and bank hols .Quick access to Xchurch ledge etc....jack

    Mike Y - Blue Boy

Only a thought for us spec's wearers, what about one of those cords that you can get ,that attaches to your glasses and goes around your neck, but thread on a couple of those polystyrene packing pieces to the centre of it,they would be out of the way behind your head.If you did manage [despite the cord] to drop them over, they would float.=

    Sunday 22 May

You are of course quite correct, thus the reluctance on our part ,to move onto the Hook sands to avoid the "flyers".We might have chanced it in flat calm, but not on Sunday,..jack
  22. Andy and I had decided to play in Poole harbour but popped outside for a look.It was blowing well but beareable in the Arvor,so we trickled on down to Bournemouth rocks. The waves were not large,no more than a couple of foot ,but close together and confused/lumpy. no-one else fishing although the yauchties were loving it !.We drifted for an hour or so in that area, another larger boat charged on through and out to the patch,we were thinking of joining him [safety in numbers ] but he packed it in after about 20 mins and came back in,he hung about near durley rock, then quit and went in altogether. We carried on with good baits, [the poor chap in the tackle shop had tons that he was stuck with ,due to the cancellations] but not a bite,do's the rough shallow water scatter the fish,I wonder?Because it was too rough to brew up we quit and moved in to the front of Brownsea Castle,on the way in ,had to run the gauntlet of what seemed like dozens of Kite boarders.we could not avoid them or go round because the hook sands were a sea of foam, and under 10' deep in the channel,we had to plod steadily and rely on them avoiding us,as they were flying in every direction, are they the new poole menace ? now that the scooters have thinned out a little ? Once in made tea and did lots of the most erratic and confused drifts with tide fighting wind. Just as we decided to call it a day ,I wound up ,and a really nice {and obliging Pollack} took my worm and squid bait.So at least it was'nt a total blank. Also spoke to Tresillian at the quayside on the way in,I had seen him earlier but did'nt realise who it was.Once again a nice day out,and better than watching Tele'......jack
  23. Fairy sure that Andy and I fished this area,in early Feb.cant really be sure as we still had'nt worked out how to use the plotter etc,at the time our simrad plotter said we were on the Skagarat ,it was only when we took it back to thier depot that we found it had been fitted with the wrong chart !.But it did't matter we still motored for 8hrs and lots of miles for our normal nil result.I am sure that this is of no use at all to Harry, but I am renowned for being bloody useless...cheers jack

    Dinghy Fishing

Thanks Coddy,I suspect you might mean Redcliffs ?, Believe it or not I kept my boat on a bankside mooring there in the mid-sixties. Once again I had forgotten all about it [This is what happens as bits of you, iether drop off ,or become addled. ]My wife and I will pop down and have a look during the week,I bet there will have been a few changes there ! .But could be ideal for a bit of "floundering" about....Perhaps you could let me know about Felixtow. PM me ,if it will be of no interest to other memberscheers jack
