  1. Tripe! How narrow minded can they be? So easy for them to ignore any differences because this is both what they are told by the commercial lobby - whom they need to appease, and not least, that it is so simple/ less costly and less time consuming to clump us all together. How many 100's of tonnes of fish do the anglers of Weymouth land and do they also discard a further 63% dead into the sea before docking.........
  2. Many yappy returns Jack!

  6. Sorry guys, I dragged my heels a bit on that one. I had a look at a couple of scales and the best I can make out so far is 17-18 years. This makes it a relatively young fish for its weight. Alun did say it was chunky. I'll sort out the best photo and post it as I still have to send a couple to 'The Bear'.
  7. An early heads up for this one! During April I will be taking delivery of a new LR Defender 110 so my current one becomes available. 10. I'm sure Alun will enjoy the record spot for a while, but it won't stop a few of us trying for the top spot!

Happy Birthday Simon You will now know the answer to the big question........... (hitch-hiker's guide to the galaxy) 42 Happy Christmas too
  15. You probably all know this but for the benefit of the few.......... Roping out over bumpy ground is best done with the jock lifted right up thus dropping the nose of the trailer. Atach the rope by means of a loop passed around the back of the jockey wheel, under the trailer frame then over the jockey stem to secure. Any bumps and the tightening rope tends to lift the nose over the bump as it straightens. Will also prevent bending the jockey stem. On very rough ground, better with someone with a hand on the bow to steady the boat.
  16. I reckon it's a volume thing, very much like the 'supermarket syndrome' It will make it harder for the discerning angler to get quality gear from the high street. Took me ages to get two Penn Slammer live-liners over here only to find they too are now made in China. I could have also bought them direct from the States and delivered to my door in 4 days for about 2 thirds the price . Madness
  17. I heard a nasty rumour that K2 are cutting Penn International and The Ugly Stick range of rods from their product list..... .... the only decent stuff left in the line-up I'm told. Anyone know what's going on
  18. Well done Kam, super day!! Hasn't this bass season been late........... wonderful
  19. Flooding tide all day and a stiff easterly................ Therefore my prediction is.. "You'll need bicycle clips and courtacy buckets around the deck I fear". Stay safe chaps........ sadly I'll be working again. Tight lines
  20. You'll see from some of my early bass posts that sizes vary quite a bit. The weight length thing is a rough guide only for catch and release purposes, and all you should be claiming is a length, with a comment such as fat, lean or average to give you a personal notion as to the possible weight.
  21. slapped wristies then........
  22. Paul, My chart is not big enough to show this properly, so can you help? I'll be fishing out of Puerto Mogan, Gran Canaria......... Is that within 'club waters'............ and........ do you have alternative weigh in points other than Baiter?..... .......
