  1. MMMMMMM _ _ _ _ Seaside Based - - - - Only used in Fresh Water ? Is that Poetic License, Like " One little old lady owner "? When you get to my age, you tend to carry a pinch of salt with you for just such occasions. It'll be Fine ! See you out there. Jim

    Boat Show

The new 170 is just " Nicer " than the 165. When the wives are helping to choose, this should help to sway them. Well done Warrior !

    Boat Show

A friend of mine thinks it's a Large fold of Money ! The chap at the boat show says it's an insert on the engine mounting to alter the angle. Adam will explain in more detail I suppose. Adam, in your view do we need wedge and Trim Tabs, or just choose from one of the two ? Jim
  4. Were you happy with the Service etc.? I assume you were, as you did not say otherwise. Jim

    Boat Show

The man on the stand said that the hull had been altered slightly too. My 165 tends to " Porpoise " on flat water and he claims they have designed that out of it. He also said I could use some Trim Tabs and a Wedge. I thought the wedge was to pay for them but he explained that it is used to alter the angle of the engine.
  6. I have an etec 75. It came with my Warrior 165 last November. I don't think it's noisy, or smelly. Diesels are noisey and smelly ! So far I have been pleased but always follow these little " E-Tec Baiting " sessions to see if there are any problems with them. I spoke to a local dealer at the show, ( hang on - I'll find his card ) Got it ! - - - Mike Vincent, South Coast Marine, Bridge Street, Christchurch. Dorset BH23 1EB 01202 482695 He says to take the prop off at least 3 times per year ( with all outboards ) and check the gearbox seals for damage. Fishing line wrapped around there will destroy the seal and the salt water will destroy the gearbox. Also, the 3 year service interval leads us to think that other parts are O.K. too. The Impellor etc. should be inspected / replaced yearly. Mine is nearly due for it's service, so we'll see what happens. He reckons about

    Boat Show

Yes! On the Honda Stand they had a new design Warrior on display. I can't remember the model name but it's got much smoother lines and more cubby holes etc. It's aimed more towards the wives than the 165. It is very nice and worth a look. Jim
  8. I would love the chance to come out and learn from you Alun. Unfortunately, I've spent the past week trying to shake off some bug or other. The Doctor informed me last night that it is a Viral Infection and confined me to bed for a week. I know the fresh air would do me good but if I got caught, my boss would hang me up by my thumbs. Another time please ? Jim

    Boat Show

Great day at the Boat Show again on Sunday. It was Lovely weather. But I suppose due to the financial climate, it was much quieter than usual. We said hello to Tom Bettle and co. They allowed us onto the boats for a good look around. They do a nice one for about
  10. As a Warrior 165 owner, I think it would be a good first boat for someone and should'nt lose a fortune in depreciation. Good luck with the sale Harry. Jim

  19. That is a Shame. The lads in there were Knowledgeable and Helpfull. I think their hands were tied to Prices by Indespension. I hope they start up on their own with realistic prices. I don't mind paying a bit more if you can walk in and get one. But Indespension priced themselves out. ( In my opinion ) Jim
  20. I allowed myself to get cold on sunday and been feeling rough all day. Neal told you how it went. I'm off to bed early. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Thanks again for taking me under your wings lads. Jim Paul D - How do I set up a Photo bucket ?
  21. Big thanks to Neal for inviting me on board Court Jester. Neal, John, Gordon & Me set off from Cobb's at about 9.00am. It was a lovely clear morning. Neal has found that an Arvour 250 without loads of equipment bolted to the roof will go under the bridge with the depth display at 2.35 metres. But it's as tight as a Boss's wallet. Once through the bridge we set off for the open sea. Gordon and Neal planning the strategy as we went. Just outside of the harbour, Neal did a " Handbrake Turn " " Look " he shouted there's fish all around us. We quickly deployed the feathers. John had a Garfish & I had a Mackerel. More boats were coming through and the fishing went quiet so we headed off. We spotted Alfresco and went to say hello. ( photos to follow ). Then off to our " secret " drifts. We had Mackerel, Pollack, Trigger, Got to go - - - Break's over. Ill add some more and some photos tonight. Jim
