  1. Just looked at BBC Weather Sunny intervals - 18c - 9mph southerly wind. I'm still going. Anyway I've ordered the ragworms. Jim
  2. Paul, I'll listen on Ch.6 to hear how many you're catching. You can come out on Small Fry another time maybe. See Ya, Jim
  3. Simon. Another time perhaps. Jim
  4. Right ! Here's one for Paul D. When I am logged in, there is nothing under Sinbad's reply. When I log out, There is something there. Now I may be old and simple, but what does LOL mean ? ? ? ? Jim
  5. They've changed their minds again. Now it's Light Showers. Anyone up for it ? Jim
  6. Thanks Dan. As no-one seems to be available to give me a bit of guidance, I COULD go out on my own. I was just about to throw it open to any inexperienced club member so they can learn how to NOT catch fish from me, and perhaps help to make a decision about choice of boat. But decided to re-check the weather. THE SWINES ! They've changed their minds. Earlier in the week they said it was going to be Hot & Sunny on Friday. Now it's going to be Heavy Showers. Bu*ger it ! I'll probably cancell now, depending on interest and a change of weather. Looks like it'll be Asda with my Mum again. Cheers for your offer Dan. Jim PS are you at the BARBIE ?

( I will gladly return the favour if i spot any of you guys or you spot me always yell as i usually have a camera and a waterproof video on board (its the batteries that i usually forget). Simon L ) Simon, I have just fitted a cigarette lighter box ( 4 sockets ) to Small Fry. You could keep batteries charged with one of these if you can get the neccessary adaptors. Jim

    Smart Tabs

Just looked back at Rob Francis's post. He has bought plastic \ composite tabs. I assume this will stop the corrosion of screws as well. When I set my tilt & trim to mid position and the sea is flat, If I open Small Fry Up she will do 32 mph acording to my GPS. The problem is that it keeps ( porpoising ) ( I think that's the right term ). The bow climbs and falling, giving an unstable ride. If I adjust with tilt & trim, It stops the porpoising but the steering gets heavy as F. That sounds like I need trim tabs I think Thanks again, Jim

Small Fry is a Warrior 165 with a 75 HP E Tec As Rob says, It would be nice to get up on the plane in Poole Harbour within the speed limit. Does anyone have views on which would be best, Fins or Trim tabs ? Jim

  22. That's the reason I asked. I too have an E Tec ( 75 ) I chose my boat with an E Tec, on the advice of Tony ( Fat Chance ) He has a Raider 18 with a 90 E Tec. I follow the reports of performance and service costs etc. very closely. Cheers for the info. Jim

  24. What engine is it then Paul ? Jim
  25. We were out in Small Fry. My son Steve, my mate Chris from Coventry and Myself. We didn't have much of a clue between us so we didn't bother to enter the Comp. We caught some Mackerel of Hengistbury and some Pout on the patch. Not good enough to win a comp. We did have a good day out though and that's what it's all about. If I catch a fish, It's just Icing on the Cake. Big thanks to Mike Fox for swinging by and saying hello while we were drifting past Brownsea Castle and giving us a bit of advice. We still didn't catch anything decent. We did have Fish for Tea though. I do feel proud to put food on the table that way. Jim PS I'll do more comps as my capabilities improve.
