Does anybody know of any other sea fishing programmes available online?
-
I would have thought that, at best by signing a petiton like this, it will lead to a review of the current framework. Even if you don't agree with a blanket ban, is a review a bad thing? Personally, I don't think so. Newboy if you mean this http://www.linecaught.org.uk/linecaught.htm, I agree.

I've added my name to the list.

Not a fan of Robson Green and I doubt he will be making a comeback as a presenter but I found it entertaining enough to follow the series. If anybody how missed it and wants to see it: http://demand.five.tv/Series.aspx?seriesBa...WithRobsonGreen

What you caught on that trip is mind blowing! I think my boat selection is going to have to be based on being able to get there! I can feel a big hole developing in my pocket

This is the first chance I've had to logon since Friday, I'm still playing catch-up at work. Anyway it was well worth it! Thank you for a great day Paul. Fishing, airshow, great company and managed to add Bull Huss and Gurnard to my list of fish caught this year. Excellent. It's a shame your eel got away, would have loved to see it landed on the boat! Although not without some intrepidation! Thanks again Simon

I like the toys. That screen sure looks BIG!!! You've done a lot of work, well done.

Hi, if anybody is ever short of crew for evening/night fishing out of Poole, please give me a shout. Thanks Simon

Hi Coddy, I see Alun's bass of 18lb 8oz shown on the club records is bigger than the one shown on the wessex division site. Is there a reason why it's not shown on their website, is it just because it wasn't reported?

I had a nice day on Abode11 with Craig & Paul D. Plenty of joeys but unfortunately the bass were harder to find! Amazing how some make it sound so easy. It was great to meet you both. Thank again Simon

Thanks for the pm Paul D I'm looking forward to day and I keeping my fingers crossed for the weather!

Hi, if anybody needs crew for the bass comp please give me a shout. Please, please, please, please... Thanks Simon

Thanks Tom.

Sorry, can't find it for looking.

Reading reports like this, I can see why this sport can become totally addictive. Great write up Tom, I would have loved to get in that cage, I bet you got a great adrenaline rush!

Hi Jim, I certainly fit the "inexperianced" bit. I would normally love to join you as I can usually wangle a Friday afternoon off but unfortunately not this week. I've got to go to Brighton at 6.00am on Saturday and I've got some work I've got to finish before I go. Hopefully next time your offer is open to the "inexperianced"

A big thank you to Neal and Rich for kindly taking me under their wing on Court Jester yesterday. I really can't think of a better way to start!!! You guys made it look so effortless. Arrive at a mark drop a line and you're in... and how you both know what's going to be at the end before it's even hooked is amazing!!! As for those bream, I think I'm going to be scratching my head for a long time working out how to stop them sucking off my bait! I'll certainly be trying those hooks Rich. A thoroughly enjoyable day. Nice boat, great guys and a bass to take home. What more can anybody want! This is a steep learning curve I'm going to enjoy trying to master. Thanks again. Simon

Great stuff, thanks. I can see this is not going to be an easy choice. I can feel myself wanting to increase the budget already. Well... I better see if I can hook any fish first. I'm going to wait until after next months meeting before I buy anything else. Bought a star drag real but I do like the sound of lever drag. Thanks for the offer Charlie, usually back in the club house by 9ish. Will drop you a PM. Rigging lessons I wish, I've only been crewing 5 years... It's as complicated as this fishing lark

Lol, I was a bit slow on the uptake. I did read about that famous rock!
-
Thanks Charlie, I've just seen Neal's boat, very nice indeed. I want one! Unfortunately though, I don't think my boat budget will stretch that far. Secret Rock... I'm intrigued?
-
Thank you guys, very helpful. Thanks NB. Looks like I may have to return a few impulse purchases to the auction site. Thanks for such a comprehensive post Charlie! I could easily be drawn by the expensive rigs and burn a big hole in my pocket, however, with my nil experience, I guess it wouldn't make much difference at this stage. Budget... well, to start me off, I'm hoping to be able to get a basic setup for around the

Wayhay!! Thanks Neil, I look forward to it!

Hi, I'm dying to get out to get some experience before buying a boat. If anybody needs crew please give me a shout. Simon

WOW, I never realised there was so much skill involved to this! I've been feverishly reading as much as I can. There's so much info out there and the more I read the more confused I'm becoming. f Is there such a thing as a dummies guide? I'm trying to put some kit together but with so many options where do I start? Braid, mono, dynon... how many rods & reels should I have? What sort of budget should I have? Ideally, I would like to put a list together of what I need to get started and try to source it online. Is this realistic or should I just go to the local angling centre and ask them to supply everything? Sorry for all the questions when I've only just joined. Any pointers to set me in the right direction greatly received. Looks like I'm going to have to setup a boat valeting service to repay the favours!!!
