  1. I have a fender permanently attached to the end of the warp in case i have to loose the lot in a hurry. I just hope if i ever have to do this it's because im chasing a huge fish PJ
  2. Happy Birthday Gordon PJ
  3. Using the alderney rig gets easier with practice . The key for me is keeping sight of the buoy to ensure the rope goes down the side of the boat and not under it. Having a dory type hull with chines there is a tendency for it to get stuck between the chines and go under the boat. what i do is bring the rope up and around the starboard side bow cleat so its on it's way down one side ( Skippers side) and in clear view before i start. Hope this makes sense PJ
  4. Fairly clear in Bournemouth however i believe some schools have closed PJ
  5. I won't be going this year, im going stateside to catch some striped Bass PJ
  6. Well done Andy, you did better than us on Marineboy as we only got one Cod of 6 1/2lb. It seemed slow for many boats, i heard Neo did very well again though PJ
  7. I know it's a long shot but: Anyone got room for three tomorrow? me and two of my mates PJ
  8. Well it was lovely and flat this morning, a huge tide though so i'd give it aty least 2 hours either side of low water. You'll need to stay east of the yellow buoys and you should be fine. About a dozen of these mad men in the harbour this morning, it might look sunny but it was bloody freezing in the north wind
  9. Check out the new front page, it's pretty impressive PJ

    Cod rig

Usually a minimum of 5lb It does depend if it's being shredded by doggies or pout and you should change it every 15 mins or so as the scent will wash out PJ
