  1. Rich, Thanks for the concern but im sure i'll work something out and don't want to make your arrangements more complicated. Glad you got this post started as im sure there are a lot more people looking to crew or needing crew and this is a good place to get this sorted. cheers PJ
  2. Rich, i could be up for this if you don't mind dumping me off early to do the weigh-in PJ
  3. Jack, Seeing the Dolphins is a blessing, shame about the camera The water was crystal clear in Christchurch harbour also. PJ
  4. Looks great PJ
  5. I arranged to take Al Hughes cod fishing today. It was a lovely calm and warmish day compared with the previous days frosts so things were looking good from the off. oily flat seas and no wind saw us go a few miles offshore to anchor up and fish for cod. It was a treat to be out there on such a calm day but the forecasts were not good for later on so we had one eye on the weather and knew we didn't have long out there . Well we didn't need long out there as after the 10th dogfish and nothing else we got bored and went inshore again. Well that decision saved the day, as shortly after, AL caught a Bass of 8lb 60z on a plug. he then did it again with a fish of 4-5lbs so i then woke up and joined in the fun with a 4lber. This continued for the rest of the day and we ended up with 12 bass ( AL=8 Pj = 4) as well as a wrasse for AL on a lure. A great day out, good fish, good conditions and great company All the fish went back happily too. PJ

  13. See the generous offer from Steve Porter, individual trips for the open (If i didn't have to run the weigh-in, i'd be on this one) I have offered the trip up at
  14. Just to be clear: The bait shown on the other post is way OTT It was a "last drop lets use all the left overs up as we only have 5 mins left to fish bait" and done for a bit of a laugh. Masking the hook and dropping cod is fairly common and not much fun so don't over do it! The hooks need to be extra sharp! PJ
  15. HA Ha Fred You fishing the Open? PJ

    Hi Guys

    Welcome aboard Chris PJ
  17. It was good to see a strong showing from the PBSBAC lads-at least in the attendance numbers. I personally found the use of only one rod/ 3 hooks very boring indeed. I nabbed couple of small whiting on a smaller set up while rebaiting the big baits. Two rods would have at least kept us a little busier. The comp seemed well organised but i didn't stay to see the weigh- in/presentation so i don't know how this side of things went. I managed to hand out loads of posters and many seemed keen to join us next month. PJ
  18. Very nice congrats! PD get the boat ready PJ

Keith Arthur has done a great job in airing our views on His Talk sport am radio show this Weekend. The show is between 6am-8am on Saturday and Sundays. i went on this morning to have a rant and also to promote the Open Comp. Next week he has the NFSA chairman on to discuss what they plan to do about it PJ
  20. Rob, I heard you on the radio responding to that Mayday, what was that all about? All i heard was a 14ft fishing boat had capsized towards Southampton water- tell us more when you get back in PJ
  21. Sneaked out a quick trip before the weather turned., it was quite nice with flattish seas considering the wind but it was with the tide which helped. 3 small bass a a load of gars was the result of my lure fishing session. Saw Trevor on Otter who was out for a test run and after a brief chat We went back in before the tide turned. Nice to be out again although i would have liked to have stayed longer had the forecast been better, PJ
  22. Nice fishing Andy, Bass and Cod! sounds like a great day, PJ
