Charlie, Make sure both devices are running the same version and registered ( update via Google play) Make sure you tick the sync data box on both devices and the marks/waypoints will appear on both. I just changed phones so i had to transfer this info onto the new one. I had a glitch which required me to rename the marks first before they would transfer, just changed one letter. Navionics support ( email) was actually quite helpful PJ

Link to the facts sheets here - we will need to keep an eye on the finalized management proposals for Poole rocks though it does to look on the surface like restrictions are as Stuie states http://publications.naturalengland.org.uk/category/1721481 http://publications.naturalengland.org.uk/publication/5580836816551936?category=1721481

"If sold for wood the value of mangrove is £1,000 per hectare. But if you factor in storm protection, the fact fish use them to breed in, the carbon they absorb - the mangroves are worth around £21,000 per hectare to the local communities," Mr Hughes explained. Such unrecognised benefits are sometimes referred to as "ecosystem services".

Minister to Press Ahead with Bass Conservation Measures
Paul J posted a topic in Conservation Issues
Some of you will remember that some years ago the goverment changed the fisheries minister and did a u-turn on the Bass MLS and let us down at the last minute. We were fearing that history would repeat itself, so this is welcome news http://www.ukbass.com/minister-to-press-ahead-with-bass-conservation-measures/ PJ -
Some good news - well done for all the support, anglers can make a difference if they unite http://www.anglingtrust.net/news.asp?itemid=1888&itemTitle=Cautious+Celebrations+as+Weymouth+Angling+Centre+Spared+from+Demolition%85+For+Now%85§ion=29§ionTitle=Angling+Trust+News

The results of last months Solent Young Bass survey are now out and make grim reading! You can view the full .PDF here: Cefas Solent Bass Survey 2013 Average catch rates of bass were 0.41/minute towing in the harbours and 0.26/minute outside (0.34/minute overall). This overall value is well below the mean for the autumn surveys (3.9/minute) and is the lowest of the time series (1989-2013). The index for the 2010 year class is derived from the separate indices for 2-year-old bass in 2012 and 3-year-olds in 2013, and is extremely low. The index for the 2011 year class is based only on the catch rates of 2-year-olds in 2013, and is also very low. The overall trend is for a large reduction in year class strength from 2008 onwards. Mike Armstrong, from Cefas, commented in an email: “You can see the recent year-class indices from the 2013 survey are very low. The 2012 year class which will have had to survive in the estuaries as 0-gp fish through last year’s freezing winter is not represented yet in the index as it is based on 2 – 4 year old fish, so only goes as far as the 2011 year class, which of course will also have been through the cold 2012/13 winter as 1-gp fish then caught this September as 2-gps. The survey of course only provides an index for juvenile bass abundance in the Solent, although historically the year class variations in the Solent survey have corresponded quite well to the year class signals in the age composition of fishery catches over a wider area of the Channel and Celtic Sea. This might not always be the case, so we are intending as part of our ongoing bass project work to collate as much information as we can from around the coast that might tell us if the recent poor recruitment is more widespread.”

Nice one Dave, hopefully fish legal will get behind this and at the very least make them uncomfortable and have to work hard to achieve this greedy short sighted proposal PJ

Fish Fight - the next battle Dear Fish Fighter The next round of the Fish Fight is upon us. Having agreed major reforms to the EU Common Fisheries Policy, MEPs vote next week on the budget to support it – the European Maritime & Fisheries Fund (EMFF), which provides for about €6 billion for the period up to 2020. The person leading on the issue is Alain Cadec, a French MEP from the right-of-centre European Peoples’ Party. He is proposing that hundreds of millions of euros be spent on ‘fleet renewal’, building new ships, although we still have too many boats chasing too few fish. Spending public money in this way to support unsustainable fishing was stopped in 2002 because it made worse the problem of overfishing; 90% went to Spain, France and Portugal. To urge your MEP not to support the reintroduction of fleet renewal, a subsidy abolished ten years ago for the damage it caused, write to your MEPs and ask them to vote NO to Article 32b. Mr Cadec also wants money to go towards engine replacement. But modern engines can do the job more effectively than old ones and so increase the catching capacity of the fishing fleet without creating any new jobs. More efficient engines allow boats to go further, for longer. Your MEPs should vote NO to Article 39(1)(a). The cross-party 'Fish for the Future' group in the Parliament promotes a sustainable fisheries policy. We want more fish in the sea to give fishermen a successful future - not subsidies for a few. That is why we are opposing both these proposals. In addition we need to put more money aside for data collection. We simply don’t know enough about the state of fish stocks – except that in the Mediterranean in particular they are in a very bad way. Encourage your MEPs to vote YES to amendments increasing the funding available for data collection on Article 15(4). Votes take place in Strasbourg next Wednesday. I hope we can make these changes and so strengthen the delivery of a sustainable fisheries policy rather than see it undermined. The quickest way for you to get in touch with your MEPs is to visit the website writetothem.com and put your postcode in to write a letter to the people that represent you in the EU regardless of party. You could also tweet this email or share it on Facebook using the buttons at the top of the page - or why not forward this email to a friend and ask them to get involved in the Fish Fight. Thanks for all your help. With regards Chris Davies MEP Liberal Democrat environment spokesman Secretary – ‘Fish for the Future’

"Public opinion - S.IFCA and other policy makers cannot ignore public opinion (that doesn't mean everyone gets what they ask for, but you've more chance than if you say nothing)" Just sent an email backing the proposal and asking to include Poole and Christchurch Bays Took 2 minutes PJ
