Haha quite right Alun - this way we'll really be able to see the fish sticking their fingers up at us! Thanks for the offer Rob, too kind!

Ah that would definitely be handy - anyone got a spare? We do have a working Downvision sonar unit though which I'm desperate to see in action!!

Wow Rob thanks for taking these - first time we've seen her with the signwriting done, really chuffed with it! Hoping for the hand over this weekend as I'm told all of the electronics are now just about done Tony of course mate you're most welcome (don't know about that Curtis chap though!)
  5. Looks fantastic Dave, have you got a final handover date yet?
  6. I know, you just can't make it up! (I think one of them was my own wedding which I was unlikely to get away with). Ok so there's us / you / Alfresco / JV at least that can't do that weekend so still good potential for another trip if the others leave any fish behind!
  7. bu&&er!
  8. When would the next dates be Martin (please don't say 6/7/8 - only bloody wedding I've been invited to this year is that weekend and I'm an usher so can't even make an excuse!) Sorry about this one chaps Oli
  9. Have a great trip guys, if only it was two weeks later we'd be with you - would have been a perfect shakedown for the new boat! Hope you catch lots (no need to say it but have fun!).
  10. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2633739/Caught-video-Shocking-moment-angler-hooks-30st-porbeagle-shark-just-ONE-MILE-Devon-beach.html Funny how they go with: "Graeme Pullen, 62, was fishing for pollock off the North Devon coast when the 8ft long porbeagle shark took his bait." Not: "Well known shark fisherman Graeme Pullen, 62, was fishing for pollock using a rubby dubby bag off the North Devon coast when the 8ft long porbeagle shark took his bait. Luckily he was using a 50lb class rod and a 12/0 hook " Serious fish though!!!
  11. some SERIOUS fish there! Well done team Alfresco!
  12. The last update from Silver Spray sounded promising: http://silverspray.blogspot.co.uk/
  13. I've done a few nights on Southbourne rough and always had a good mix of species and some excellent sport with the congers there once it gets dark
  14. Bump as we've just heard the Targa is arriving a MONTH early! If anyone knows of someone looking for an Arvor 250 we'd be very grateful if you could put us in touch. Oli and Nick

    The New Mistress!

Lovely boat Adam, congratulations - can't wait to see her out on the water
  16. Thanks Charlie, we'd definitely be keen for a later trip, that would be great. Realistically we could do it on the current boat but having just spent a lot of time/money getting her shipshape for sale and all the gear off we're loathed to get her all dirty again - plus it's sod's law that that will be the one weekend a keen buyer wants to see her! No more pics yet though we have taken delivery of a shiny hybridtouch Raymarine unit with a platinum chart card plus a stereo so we can make sure the Jaws theme tune is available at all times!
  17. Thanks Adam, she certainly needed a good clean after the winter and they did a great job at Saltwater Solutions, very pleased! We moved her to the RMYC last year so the Targa will replace her there (well I certainly hope replacing, less than two months now and we certainly don't want to be having to find somewhere to store SC2 while we try and sell her!). Beside ourselves with excitement for the new arrival - started picking out all of the gadgety bits and positioning of the instruments and dials etc. can't wait to see her in the flesh!
  18. With the new boat 2 months away we've just had the Arvor 250AS fully prepped for sale, she's one of the best examples of this model with very low hours and lots of goodies like the Eberspacher diesel heating system, broadband radar, 12 inch plotter etc. Currently advertised at £45,000 though the club this would be £42,000 ovno - if you do know anybody who is interested then please send them my way - she's at the RMYC Poole. Newbie intro

    Welcome Rik oli
  20. Also better late than never! Happy birthday Martin
  21. Tell me about it, though I can actually hear the factory in Finland cursing me each time another email comes through from us with another mod. Currently waiting to hear back from them on the design I sent to transform the wardrobe into a rod rack haha!! 23rd June we've been told she'll be with us!
  22. Ooooh I didn't realise we were in the same marina - best grab a pint next time we're down then and you can show me round! Nottingham completely finished now? You decided to come back to Poole rather than stay in the Lenton area? Can't think why
  23. VERY nice Dan, congratulations, when is she coming?
  24. Happy birthday Kev
