I'd say mine go 25-30% of the time too so pretty normal I guess. Definitely opt for the tight along the shank method rather than slack though. I'm surprised anyone uses slack? Can't really see the reasoning behind it.

Dates are good for us too (most likely 4 of us). Booked and sent deposit for Mark's B&B at Alderney Angling. Did I mention we were KEEN!? Edit: He has space for two left so book early to avoid disappointment... Oli

Out of interest, what do you all use for tripping? We use cable ties but it takes about 5 pretty thick ones. Is there a better alternative?

Great stuff - slightly different to the 12oz Tuna I caught on my marlin trip in St Lucia in October. Still a tuna is a tuna! Tom if you want me to have a go I should be able to get the best possible quality out of it. That's the sort of thing I spend hours and hours a week doing so I have a fair idea! Oli

Hi Adam, Sorry for such a late post, I've had all week off and don't have the internet in sunny Poole so I'm using the cafe at the end of the road. No monsters (unlike the previous trip ) but did have a 6lb2oz to Duncan - not in the comp, and I'm pleased to say I finally caught, with the only other 3 bass on board! Biggest 4lb9oz... Oli
