Yes shotter all cattches reported will be a good thing. If we achieve this our next target should be banning traulers from inshore 'famous' marks- like shambles utopia etc why should we subsdize trawlers. Se should look at norway as our example

is it too little too late though?

Take your crewe to the peak of portland race and extort money from them...... Just check repayment terms when selecting the loan
-
when they designed the week they really got it wrong with two days off five at work...
-
Absolutly brilliant catch and all my congratulations! Fish and chip suppers for a while! Takes me back to a session me and dad had round other side of the island - two big 20's one high 30's- suddenly weymouth seems too suck!
-
And well done to Rob in defying the weather gods at last!
-
Please can someone post the prizewinning fish, we need to know! Congrats to the wee lad in the picture sure he will remember it for ever
-
Good luck to everyone fishing the comp tommorrow
-
Just make sure your waterproof case is really realy waterproof (id test it on an old phone) just because i managed to destroy mine with a little water spillage on my desk at work (a cynic might suspect this is deliberate so you pay for expensive repairs)

Well good the boat performed well, conditions were nice and a few fish were caught. Unfortunately i cannot say free boyz had the same success- Boat performed great as usual but conditions for fishing were poor. Bit concerned by fog on the drive down but the coast was clear and we fished all day in the sunshine( the third sussecive trip ive said thatll be the last time i fish in a tshirt this year! Unfortunately the flat calm bit was rather spoilled by the big tide- very large overfalls on the shambles and the portland race absolutely raging- i cant accuartly gage how big the standing waves at the front of the race were but they were clearly visible from where we were drifting(along the back of the shambles) and there is absolutely no way i was going for a closer look! It was also going out further than i have ever seen it before. So spent all day slopping about! Well the fishing- dad"i dont think either of us has blanked this year" on the way out so you can guess what he caught. Nowt. I had one mr spikey, keepable but small so i put it back And that was it for the fishing really tried every lure we have and nowt, had a quick try for squid over the hood but nowt. I should also admit i'd been sulking in the cabin cos i didnt want to drift the arsy bit of the shambles for about twenty minutes, walked out dropped a worm down and had mr spikey in the boat within 45 seconds... Dad wasnt amused! This brings the bass score on free boyz to 6-0! (just dont mention the bream score!)

Its amazing how your missing the weather windows! Id put the santa hats away and get out the easter eggs.... Seriously though hope the comp goes off at next opportunity.

As much as they mean well theres the same old concern commercials will exploit the data hopefully any info released will be regional only and not more detailed.

Yeah next time i dodge the guy who has changed course 100 meters away ill check all relevant legislation
-
But should a vessell deliberatly set a course through a group of boats ? and when he tried to run us down most boats were at anker at slack tide.
-
There was a Trawler who spent all day today going over the shambles. Its was ridiculous besides scraping the last few fish off he was a totall git trawling through groups off small boats, he would off run us down if we hadnt avoided him. I do feel he was extremly negligent and compromised basic safety it seemed his attitude was f off out my way while i ruin this mark
-
Well how did we all do? I had a rubbish day - two pout. Doesnt help seems everyone else in the marina bagged up. One boat had 19 brill and turbot, another a 12lb bass Even dad had a huge tope. Soooooo frustrating
-
I think we will be heading to the race for bass on sat
-
Martin if you had done this last year you may have sold us another boat(but we are very happy with free boyz she fits us just right) But good luck with the selling and we look forward to seeing what you get next!
-
Very nice fish tomo and pleased there are some there. I fished christchurch quay for last five years up till last caught nice bags- last year managed one in 4 trips(a pb but suggested a loan old survivor). How do you fish? I fish from the bank with float trotted bread( picks up the mullets as well)

Probably it was pretty much absolute slack so anchor hit seabed and chain fell in a coil around it
-
Anchored just before slack today, when we tried to retrieve using alderney rig kept falling down once we stopped to retrieve. Eventualy hauled it by hand and there was a huge tangle in the chain- about the size of football much too big for the bouy ring to go over which is why it kept going back down. We realy cant see how this happened- it was fine when dropped down- any ideas?
-
Ill add a closing note to my last post, i didnt want to critisize any one or imply i was- just highlight what we can learn from other branches of our sport. My final point will be we should all respect other ports marks- when we are lucky enough to get to aldrney we have to respect it and maintain our standards, and around our own coast especialy marks like the shamples which is under presure pretty much every day of the year as it is so acccesible and famous In fact tonight driving back in i realised in 6 years fishing weymouth ive never seen a fishing boat more than twobmiles beyond the shambles.Despite the excellent fishing availible
-
On the other hand today was perfect! Dad couldnt hook anything but wreck i couldn't hook any thing but decent pollack! Considering how ill i feel(chesty cold) i could barely raise a rod a surprising result. Hopefully the forecast will improve for you guys but i fear it wont All thr best for the comp, may the jammiest angler win!
-
Sadly to say its not a roach venue anymore, been emptied cormorants-
-
Im with martin i dont blame commercials its the politics that have raped our fisheries. Open a sea fishing mag and you will see adverts for norway, they didnt surrender fishery rights. I must also say (as someone who started as a coarse angler) the way the inshore bream marks are targeted is absolutley awful - as far as i am concerned trying to catch spawning fish is a complete no- as a young un i watched a lake full of carp spawn (some 40lb)plus .i felt privaliged to be there and didnt fish
