  1. Nicest looking rays imo
  2. I put a 12lb cod back last year. When I look on my IPod the image is scrunched up so they appear a lot fatter and what I was taking as one fish (had the brightness turned right down as well to conserve battery -I am not going blind honestly!) is two or three smaller ones.
  3. Picture now working on my PC, they do look a bit borderline...
  4. I don't think I really conveyed what I meant with my previous post. I definitely DO NOT (yes I am shouting) condone taking under size fish just because you haven't caught anything better. According to DEFRA the minimum landing size for Cod is 35 cm and from various web searches they are sexually mature at 40-50cm (sources vary and I dont absolutely believe any of them) From memory (I am on my work PC so cant get open the link to the photo) non of the fish look under the DEFRA minimum so the anglers havent done anything wrong technically. I add the technically because I do find group shots of anglers with lots of fish like this quite distastefull. This post is just to clarify my view I don't want to restart the same debates we have on other threads re minimum sizes, retaining fish etc As an aside the Lobster was probably only 2 foot long.
  5. Do we know where this picture was taken? If in the chanell i'll join you in condeming them BUT if they are on the east coast thats the average size of their cod run. Might be a bit mutch to suggest the felixstowe boats catch take nothing. Please remember dont judge others by our own standards i fished the east coast for 3 years one winter never saw a fish above 5cm. They get large numbers of smaller fish(but i did get a 3 foot lobster 100m off felixstow docs!)
  6. Why are there bars over the cabins back window- the crewe not trustworphy?

    Warrior Owners

Divide not very long by fuel availible.... I was a complete hooligan in our old 175-I've arrived at a mark before with a shoulder completly locked up where its been clenched too tight against the wave jumping
  10. See my post in the in the news section. These guys should all have been banned for life.
  11. Plus read reports that over half the boats in scotland involved. These guys should be barred from fishing the boats scrapped and fish catches be weighed all catches weighed by a regulator any infringements should lead to the whole catch being forfiet
  12. Had a nice plaice from weymouth last week so good luck
  13. Im assuming cabing duties include sausage sarnies.! sounds like a nice day out and nowt wrong with getting back inthe warm early this time of year

    LRF?

Not really sure- id guess try a rocky mark with a decent depth for pollack and wrasse.
  15. Only three months to go- looking at new tents and sleeping bag
  16. Always good polishing!

    Antifouling

We dry stack and have no probs even ringing down in the morning with portlland marina. So i would check with the marina what works best for you (if in weymouth ask about the olympics)
  18. Either that or melt the end slightly with a lighter
  19. I also caught my first ever plaice! Was in fine fettle and so nice looking i returned it
  20. The only dab i have ever caught was see through. At least you got out, i'll settle for that saturday
  21. I think we should focus our efforts where we have common ground with other parties- the first target being disgards- the commercials seem as disgusted at the waste as us- if we can unite all parties on an issue we stand a good chance of it being looked at.
  22. That reminds me of the noise the drivers seat on our warrior 175 made when at anchor. A horrible kreak kreak that used to drive me mad (oddly it never annoyed the person sat in that seat just the poor sod sat next to him)

    weekend

I would but all my rods are with dad, I'd be shot for treason by dad and have no way of getting to poole!
  24. I suspect i'll be made to skipper whilst dad sleeps on the way across, im just hoping its smooth conditions! On the positive front though my seat has been refitted so if we do come back in a 4-5 and a bit of 6 forecast i wont be sat straight on fibreglass! 3 1/2 months ish to go.........,.,
  25. Yes as a long time coarse angler before i took up sea fishing im aware people who can just turn up, use a bit of bank/shore treat it like sh%t (literaly i've seen swims before with actual turds) how hard is it too put your rubbish in a bag? I hope your dog is ok and the idiot who left that rig casts into his own ear!(i cant anatomicaly work out how he could cast into his testical but we can hope) its a shame this idiot cant be made to foot the bill
