I think i remember a couple of merchies pranging each other 3or four years back in the dover straight- not somewhere id play chicken with much bigger boats!

I Bought dad one of the Saltist Braid special and he realy likes it (I broke his 12/20 Kenzacki). They are very ligh and slim as Rob said in fact I definetely want one:) Matt

Quite a few years ago dad had a similiar act of good fortune- he lost a 30lb tope only to hook what he thought was the mother of all blond rays, came up 200yds downtide. When it got close it was two 30lb tope - one trace tangled on the other with 3-4lb of lead attached! Dad was not impressed!!

Nice fishing Rob. The big maccies seem to have been in short supply this year- We have only had a couple of a decent size. Freeboyz did break our years bass duck last friday with a few fish off a wreck down west(very west for poole boats!) had a commercial boat sharing the wreck very sportingly when a dive boat came to ruin our day he came over for a chat and then invited us to follow him to his next mark. Best Bass was 5lb 8oz to me, also had pollack(all released alive) pouting, dogfish(ididnt reel in whilst we were cooking lunch) and a few small tope(small but fiesty even on heavy gear)

Or you get a storm surge and inland flooding and you are buggered from both sides! (probably more of a worry in east anglia than poole though!)

Brilliant fish, used to go for them in the great ouse When i lived up that way. Caught a few smallies about a billion chub And one that went over ten. Defintely A hard fish to stop in a river with huge clumps of weed overhanging trees etc! (assuming it came out the avon)

On a serious note i have suffered two attempts to steal my identity in the last week. One application for a loan and one for acredit card luckily both were identified as fraud by natwest so remain vigilant

Yes looks too be a difference between the book and my ticket from saturday ( had a nice haule of roach) (dad had seatrout on bread)

If you do get one go for the two piece not the three piece ones (i have both and dont even take three piece one out anymore-its a totaly different rod and no way near as nice)
