I will wait until the July meeting so if members who are not active here would like to come they can join us. I will confirm 10 and hope we can have more if needed. Thank you for your idea of transport Hooky, we can look at that after the July meeting. Jerry

With the majority favouring Brixham, there are quite a few dates available. At the moment there are roughly ten who want to go, its £15pp including the guided tour and a cooked breakfast, which seems like a great deal. Would it be best to look towards the end of the summer? There is availability October 2nd and feel sure we could get a deal on accommodation if there were a few of us, for a little male bonding for Tony 😜. If everyone is happy with October 2nd I will book ten slots then look at accommodation?

Seems there is a bit of interest, which is great. I will find out more and post my findings.

Flatfish Comp next weekend, I have just looked at four weather sites and all are vastly different as usual. Keep watching for more details.

I have always wanted to visit a grown up fish market, and wondered if anyone would be interested in a trip to Billingsgate or I still have contacts down in Brixham from my catering days. Billingsgate offer various group packages options but I can investigate Brixham. Would any one be interested in a 24 hr trip ? See what happens to our fish from the commercials? We could even make a night of it and have a beer or two. Perhaps in the autumn or at a time when the weather is not so good🤨🤨 Any interest let me know and I will look into it. Jerry

Already done, well done for posting. -
Next weekend sees the Bream competition, weather is looking variable so keep watching and reading. Andy at Poole Sea Angling also holds his Bream Comp that day, supplying bait and tackle and advice I am sure. Pre order your rag with him a day or two beforehand

Martin, When I was doing my inquiries with the fog issues, the new manager at Cobbs, Frank is on the PHC committee regards the bridges I was told, obviously not his fault but he SHOULD be keeping us informed of bridge problems I would of thought. He did not contact me, or make comment regards my letters, re the fog incident. I have been looking at other marinas this morning since Brian posted the news. Let MDL know they might have a few people leaving and at least we might get to hear what’s happening. I was told that marine traffic was MORE important than road users which I was very surprised at. Might get a good deal somewhere else if a few of us went, though it would be a shame as I personally really like Cobbs.

Your welcome Kev, Good first trip West, you showed us how to do it. Ark 🤓 Good to find a few flatties even though the mussel beds didn’t happen, very pleased with how the boat dealt with the sea on the way home, even if the head, loo, compartment filled with water🙄🙄 The Pukka pies were great cold, (microwave broken) how long have I had the boat🤔! We had a great crack and caught our target, thanks for your superb crewing 🤣🤣🤣

Spring species competion is being re scheduled over the Easter weekend. You can fish any day but need to register the day before your fishing. This gives a four day window to get out over Easter. Please register in the usual way as per the club rules available on the website. New boats and members would be really welcome who don’t usually fish the competitions, they are great fun, no pressure, just a great social event, you might even gain some new marks watching the old hands. I am sure Mal will post a weather report Thursday 18th, and we will look forward to seeing a list of boats entering on various days over the Easter break.
