  1. Sorry Jim, I was having a bad day to, but you just made it better. Crying and wailing definitely try and remember it, I think your good lady must luuuuuuvvvvvvve you😜😜
  2. Steve, you dont mention primer? I assume you do use one? Perhaps we should have a comp for a weedy winter blast, I might get in the prizes for that!!
  3. Thanks guys, I will be doing it in the next couple of weeks, ok the next month the speed some of the marine industry work🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  4. Thanks for that Chris, you plonker Rodney🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  5. The boat has to come out of the water for snagging and leg service. I cannot believe how much weed etc has managed to attach itself, i was told not to antifoul the legs by the boatbuilder, but realise that if I don’t I will spend more hours cleaning than fishing🤔🤔😡😡 Can anyone advise the primer, paint, and any preparation specific to painting them. Golden Arrow have recommended a specific paint which I cannot remember the name. Any advice would be great thank you.
  6. If any one is coming to the meeting and has provisionally booked a place to go to Brixham, October 2nd, l have paid for the visit so to confirm please bring your £15 !!!! See you tonight.
  7. No need to go as far as that, a friend of a friend went from Grenada WI to Madeira and had a 900lbs Blue last week. Got pictures but cannot download, let’s get a gang togeather😜😜😜
  8. Still got the fun of the fair with new boats Neil, keep smiling😜
  9. Trying to avoid weekends traffic, the best weather made me change my mind and we planned a trip. Having heard about the mackerel I fancied a go at the bass, if that doesn’t work we will look for a Tope, and if that doesn’t we might go as far as the Shambles. After a couple of hours we were on the Shambles!!! We found probably 6-8 Mackerel but they were cracking Jumbos and Jacob hadn’t been to the Shambles so we arrived. Great conditions, nice drifts, lots of other boats so all looking good. We struggled to get 5 Turbot and a Brill, 3 keepers, 2 red Gurnard, a few good size launce and of course some LSD. Interesting to see the local boats actions at different states of the tide. One trawler came round the edge of the bank mid day,I think he heard what Kev was saying about him because he left!!!! breeze picked up around 4 so we had a bit of a lumpy run home. Tried for some Mackerel off a really unpleasant Durleston but no joy. Home for the 6.30 bridge good wash down by everyone and a 🍺 to finnish.
  10. Hi Adam, my lovely new boat has such a long snagging list maybe next year!!! No semi joking, I spoke with Dave about joining him and Charlie in Cherbourg, I will ask my crew I let down this year and see if they fancy it.
  11. Hope you’ve had a good,n 🍺🍺
  12. Lucky you Stuie, let us know how you get on, tight lines.
  13. Bad luck Graham, keep smiling, the wind might of dropped when your mended 🤨🤨
  14. Saturday 15th Barracuda comp went ahead with the harbour and Swash to Old Harry being the boundaries due to pretty big winds. Unfortunately this also put a lot of anglers off. With only five boats in the competition 4 were club boats and one was entered by the sponsors. First Fisheagle Second Kingfisher Third Loobie 1V Fourth Wight Magic Fifth Sponsors Very few points between boats, and hard work finding fish in the conditions. Good banter even though. Really hope the sponsors give it another year as Dogfish Dave has put in a lot of work over the last few years and it would be a shame to see it go. Hopefully even more club boats next year😜😜
  15. Flatfish Results 1 Frank Morris Plaice 2lbs 8oz 2 Chris Witheford Turbot 4lbs 15oz 3 Jan Tryska Plaice 1lbs 4oz Well done you guys, top angling. Well done to everyone else who entered, looking forward to the 48hr comp in July.
  16. Happy birthday Charlie, hope it’s been a day of RR
  17. My largest plaice was around 15oz but gutted by the crew on the way home, so unknown weight,🙄🙄🙄 🤣🤣🤣🤣 had 5-6 in the day but all small. Beautiful day to be out, and a Doombar to Finnish Loverly 😜
  18. Loobie 1V Jerry Shutter, Jerry Sumbler, Nigel Allen
  19. Weather has got even better so Flattie comp will go ahead tomorrow, hopefully a few boats will get out, please sign in as usual and tight lines.
  20. Neil, Just polish your wallet and filter your change and save for a couple of pints in Norway🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 My boat is kicking up lots of problems and snagging, your not alone😳
  21. Sunday is still improving so watch this space tomorrow and a solid decision will be made.
  22. I will wait until the July meeting so if members who are not active here would like to come they can join us. I will confirm 10 and hope we can have more if needed. Thank you for your idea of transport Hooky, we can look at that after the July meeting. Jerry
  23. With the majority favouring Brixham, there are quite a few dates available. At the moment there are roughly ten who want to go, its £15pp including the guided tour and a cooked breakfast, which seems like a great deal. Would it be best to look towards the end of the summer? There is availability October 2nd and feel sure we could get a deal on accommodation if there were a few of us, for a little male bonding for Tony 😜. If everyone is happy with October 2nd I will book ten slots then look at accommodation?
  24. Seems there is a bit of interest, which is great. I will find out more and post my findings.
  25. Flatfish Comp next weekend, I have just looked at four weather sites and all are vastly different as usual. Keep watching for more details.
