Had half a dozen last week, all singletons.

Thanks Chris, I am sure Sandie would tell us something😳😳😳🤣🤣🤣 Charlie do you mean the lady from the University? I think it would be a good after meeting topic as and when we can hopefully get back to normality. As that could be a long time perhaps she could send us her thoughts on a video message and a Martin could put it on the site?

It was suggested to me that they had already spawned and gone to deeper water? Also 30-40% bigger males very black, I was told that was the ones guarding the nests, aggression being the dark colour. It would be great to find a scientist or someone who could really answer the questions, it is a controversial subject every year.

After such a long lock down 2 good weather days had to taken. Day one 5.15 start to do 9.30 bridge🙈. Bream the main target, the first day we struggled with only one small one but lots of sport including 4-5lbs smoothies on 30-50g lure rods, Undulate to 15.5lbs on the same which took some playing out, mullet, bass,LSD,Ballans, and a few cracking Plaice. Back in the 6.30 lift home 9.15. Day Two 5.15 start for 9.30 bridge, new Bream mark which kept us very busy all day, had 60-70 guesstimate, we decided only spent females for the pot. Only 4 females caught all full of eggs, so we took 2 males each, a tricky subject, decision. Best Bream 2-6oz, also had Baillons, Mackerel, LSD, and another beautifully marked Undulate. On the way home a few worms left so a drift for an hour we caught 9 Plaice best just over 2lbs. Better wash down and back home for 9.30 and a glass of red. Two superb days, let’s hope lockdown stays away for a very long time.

I followed this boat and van away from Poole. By the time it reached Spetisbury smoke was pouring from the trailer wheels. I was two cars back and flashed them down, they stopped, they were angry with me, no trailer board, lights etc, both males should of been on crime watch if you understand my political correctness.😡😡🙈🙈

Have a good one🥳

I had a friend at school who bought a pale blue invalid car like that Steve, not old enough to drive on the road he stripped it right back to the chassis, which was a square metal platform basically, it had all the clutch, gears, accelerator on the steering and was not easy to master. It used to pull wheelies and was lethal but good fun on the school playing fields- most of the time🙈🙈 He then got into sugar and weed killer and put a rocket booster on it🤣🤣🤣🤣 He was the son of an eminent member of the cloth, the trike never survived the rocket!!!!!
-
Come on Nigel, full list you petrol head, and how many survived your right foot😜

I had a Vauxhall Viva hc 1275cc as my first car, I used to stall it regularly at hill traffic lights around Bath, had to get out and hit the starter motor with a hammer, such a chic magnet!!

Remarkably, everything above has now found homes, thank you those who bought stuff. Jerry

Hi Guys, I think everyone is feeling very raw and tense at the moment, I agree with everyone’s comments. Rob is so correct about wasted money within many major charities, there are a few I do NOT give to because such a huge amount is spent and wasted on wages, admin etc. That said, I think the NHS is one of the worst offenders regards wasting money in certain areas. I have chosen NHS because we have lost two family members to Corona Virus in the last 3 weeks, so very much at the front of my mind. Lofty I agree whole heartedly regards the NHS not being a charity, but I personally don’t think anyone could expect it to stand on its own feet dealing with this pandemic. At this time we ALL have to just stick together, I fear the worst is yet to come regards the damage to business small and large. Keep smiling chaps, getting out on our boats surely must be getting closer. Jerry

Hi Lofty, I totally agree, we do a charity clay shoot for JH every other year, an incredibly worthwhile cause. In times like these it is very difficult to spread donations equally for so many good causes. I think EVERY high street charity is in dire straights, let us hope we can support them all over time. Hi Colin, If your offer still stands, it’s yours. We will sort when this madness sorts, many thanks from NHS. Jerry

Might have a buyer, offered £75 so might snatch there arm off, move fast if wanted!!! There again when they see the price of the batteries they might decline!!
-
I don’t have the original charger, I bought one on fleabay after much research, it did nothing but seemed to function correctly. As I said the bike had sat unused for 5 years with me and could of be 2-3 years or more unused with my brother in law. I decided the battery would of died after this time of no use? I am happy for some one to take the bike on, if they get success, a donation to the NHS if not find it a good home!!!

Happy birthday have a good one🧜🏼♀️🍻🧜🏼♀️🍻

Hi Chris, router is yours, you might need a low loader😜 Colin, I will endeavour to get the tyre sizes but feel 101% certain tyres will not be a problem or mega expense, it’s the battery which is so expensive. It’s not going anywhere fast, I did find two on EBay but don’t think they are made now regards spares.
-
Hi Jim, No problem re router. You need to do some homework on the bike, the battery replacement is very roughly £200. If it’s just that and tyres, it would be a cheap e bike. If you would give £50-100 to NHS that would be fine. I looked at it as a project and was put off by the battery price? Let me know👍

Hi guys, Started clearing my workshop after years of hoarding and being given things. I will try and say condition etc, the electric bike must be worth a bit and I would like to get something for this which I will donate directly to NHS. On eBay last week there were 2 exactly the same not working which both went for over £500. I do not expect anything like that. It was my brother in laws who never rode it, (plastic still on handle bars) flat battery and tyres. The router is Jim’s if he’d still like it, the Kangol drill runs but has a problem, lots of drill bits etc, BD old drill works fine, also a mitre hand saw no picture. Donations to Nigel for HOW at the next meeting!! More stuff to come, prefer bike collected but for a pint I could be persuaded to drop at Cobbs😜 All is used and just needs use and a good home!! pm for more info. Jerry

Happy birthday 🍻🍻🍻🍻

Thanks for your comments everyone, all good advice. My concern is still the anchor hitting the bow roller, rather than it riding up over it following the chain. If it doesn’t work on my boat someone will be most welcome to try on there’s, that is when we can🙁 Hope to see you all soon, stay safe.

I read up about all the various crimps/clamps fixings and these I am using were quite a way above the crimps for strength. I agree the crimps are much prettier and if built by a professional probably stronger than mine!!!

That makes a lot of sense Steve. This is how far I have got, putting the thimble in was tricky and bending the wire was a bit of a grunt, luckily the wife’s good with grips! You have to do the nuts equal pressure, I unfortunately broke one clip by going one turn to many instead of exactly alternating. I also found another socket set for the torque wrench. I am meant to tighten to 45lbs on the wrench but have not got there, you can see how compressed the wire is and I did not want to break or damage more SS fittings!!
-
Unfortunately we have had to haul about 4m of chain and a 15kg anchor onboard reasonably regularly, not the best idea but saves going to the gym😖
-
I am glad I am not the only one, but sorry you are all suffering the same problem. I have sent Martin the pictures of the boat in Dover, hopefully he can post the pictures. The Dover skipper assures me it has helped him 100% EXCEPT the SS wire rotted and he has lost a couple of anchors. But he now changes every few seasons and I think has got over the problem. The 316 SS wire I ordered from Germany, why? I dont know really. My new torque wrench is 1/2 inch, and I then found the 13mm socket needed was only in 1/4 in my tool kit!!! All a learning curve. Hopefully you will see that the swivel on the chain is still being used onto the wire. I cannot finish the fixing of the wire because I want to measure against the anchor, even though I have the measurements of the anchor I want to SEE it. This has bugged me ever since I have had my boat so I would be delighted if I can help others cure a problem. Has any one tried or used metal cable ties or screw up circlips for break away fixings instead of cable ties. Your boat and mine I would imagine were a similar weight Steve so I listen with interest.
