  1. Might have a buyer, offered £75 so might snatch there arm off, move fast if wanted!!! There again when they see the price of the batteries they might decline!!
  2. I don’t have the original charger, I bought one on fleabay after much research, it did nothing but seemed to function correctly. As I said the bike had sat unused for 5 years with me and could of be 2-3 years or more unused with my brother in law. I decided the battery would of died after this time of no use? I am happy for some one to take the bike on, if they get success, a donation to the NHS if not find it a good home!!!
  3. Happy birthday have a good one🧜🏼‍♀️🍻🧜🏼‍♀️🍻
  4. Hi Chris, router is yours, you might need a low loader😜 Colin, I will endeavour to get the tyre sizes but feel 101% certain tyres will not be a problem or mega expense, it’s the battery which is so expensive. It’s not going anywhere fast, I did find two on EBay but don’t think they are made now regards spares.
  5. Hi Jim, No problem re router. You need to do some homework on the bike, the battery replacement is very roughly £200. If it’s just that and tyres, it would be a cheap e bike. If you would give £50-100 to NHS that would be fine. I looked at it as a project and was put off by the battery price? Let me know👍
  6. Hi guys, Started clearing my workshop after years of hoarding and being given things. I will try and say condition etc, the electric bike must be worth a bit and I would like to get something for this which I will donate directly to NHS. On eBay last week there were 2 exactly the same not working which both went for over £500. I do not expect anything like that. It was my brother in laws who never rode it, (plastic still on handle bars) flat battery and tyres. The router is Jim’s if he’d still like it, the Kangol drill runs but has a problem, lots of drill bits etc, BD old drill works fine, also a mitre hand saw no picture. Donations to Nigel for HOW at the next meeting!! More stuff to come, prefer bike collected but for a pint I could be persuaded to drop at Cobbs😜 All is used and just needs use and a good home!! pm for more info. Jerry
  7. Happy birthday 🍻🍻🍻🍻
  8. Thanks for your comments everyone, all good advice. My concern is still the anchor hitting the bow roller, rather than it riding up over it following the chain. If it doesn’t work on my boat someone will be most welcome to try on there’s, that is when we can🙁 Hope to see you all soon, stay safe.
  9. I read up about all the various crimps/clamps fixings and these I am using were quite a way above the crimps for strength. I agree the crimps are much prettier and if built by a professional probably stronger than mine!!!
  10. That makes a lot of sense Steve. This is how far I have got, putting the thimble in was tricky and bending the wire was a bit of a grunt, luckily the wife’s good with grips! You have to do the nuts equal pressure, I unfortunately broke one clip by going one turn to many instead of exactly alternating. I also found another socket set for the torque wrench. I am meant to tighten to 45lbs on the wrench but have not got there, you can see how compressed the wire is and I did not want to break or damage more SS fittings!!
  11. Unfortunately we have had to haul about 4m of chain and a 15kg anchor onboard reasonably regularly, not the best idea but saves going to the gym😖
  12. I am glad I am not the only one, but sorry you are all suffering the same problem. I have sent Martin the pictures of the boat in Dover, hopefully he can post the pictures. The Dover skipper assures me it has helped him 100% EXCEPT the SS wire rotted and he has lost a couple of anchors. But he now changes every few seasons and I think has got over the problem. The 316 SS wire I ordered from Germany, why? I dont know really. My new torque wrench is 1/2 inch, and I then found the 13mm socket needed was only in 1/4 in my tool kit!!! All a learning curve. Hopefully you will see that the swivel on the chain is still being used onto the wire. I cannot finish the fixing of the wire because I want to measure against the anchor, even though I have the measurements of the anchor I want to SEE it. This has bugged me ever since I have had my boat so I would be delighted if I can help others cure a problem. Has any one tried or used metal cable ties or screw up circlips for break away fixings instead of cable ties. Your boat and mine I would imagine were a similar weight Steve so I listen with interest.
  13. Hi guys, I have had problems with my anchor retrieval since I had my boat. When it arrived it had a swivel attached to the end of the chain which was attached directly to the anchor, this came in beautifully every time. However I obviously wanted to have a trip on the anchor, so I got rid of the swivel and attached the chain to the front/top of the Bruce anchor with a shackle and cable tied it at the “shank” which I have done before and it’s worked well. What happens is the anchor touches/hits the bow roller first which trips it, unless an unlucky crew member hangs over the front, with moving winches, and falling in a high probability. The chain needs to run along the bottom/belly of the anchor and not along the top/spine so the chain is in the bow roller. Sorry it’s difficult to explain. I have been advised by the boat builder some time ago, that having wire cable instead of chain can help and put me in touch with a chap in Dover who had the same problem and this has fixed it, I cannot see how it will but going to try. My question is!!! Should I put nylock nuts on the SS clamps after the thimbles in the photo.I will measure distance and tighten with torque wrench for 10mm SS wire but concerned they might work loose being bounced about. I have photos of the boat in Dover but cannot download sorry.
  14. You finished all your diy Charlie🤣 Stunning underwater shot.
  15. It looks a very genuine site with people trying to survive in the present crisis or am I being naive ?
  16. I lost my wallet somewhere
  17. A remarkable likeness Martin, I see no outboard? Has it died at last🤣🤣🤣🤣 Sorry below the belt, stay safe up there on the Downs. Jerry
  18. Hi Rob, Please keep any pictures of the water/coast coming, us landlubbers are missing it👍👍👍👍 Happy Easter everyone😄
  19. Have you finished lambing Colin? Your posts are keeping us all amused. I suppose other than a few elastic bands on there tails you’ve finished your years work😜🤣🤣🤣🙄🙄 Hope it’s all going to plan.
  20. I thought that was Madness moored on the quay, then when I saw the foredeck I realised it wasn't 😜
  21. Mal, I have no idea, I thought it was a router. Any way I cannot believe the amount of interest!!! Chris W was the first out the blocks and has both. I have lots more clearing to do yet !
  22. Both items gone thankyou.
  23. Two items I cleared after a relative passed away and I could not face putting in the skip. I have had them for 12 months. All working as far as I am aware. Donations to HOW.
  24. Hi Andy, Very smart, I would look down every avenue regards power. I had a single 225 Yamaha on a Breaksea 25, I loved the boat and engine but not the mpg!! It now has twin 300 Yamahas on it and when being tested they bottled out at 43k!! Good luck with the build in these bonkers times Really look forward to seeing progress 👍 Jerry
  25. Martin, You need to make sure the jobs given take much longer than expected so visits to the boat, PSA , can be fitted in between Travis Perkins or B+Q. Complaining about tiredness or overwork to gain a day or 3 off a week needs to be added to go fishing. Or of course man up and say your off fishing🤣🤣🤣 (then run) I have done lots of “jobs outstanding” hung an owl box yesterday after 6 months, tied some sole rigs this morning. Well done Brian, great to have your boat at home to get up to speed.👍
