  1. Possibly an Argentine species Alun? Maybe a Greater Argentine???
  2. I'll be there. Everyday You'll find me on stand E057 one along from the Marina Bar! Finishes a week Sunday.
  3. Tonights episode of 'Sgota see Jules having his first ever go at Kayak Angling. I am at a boat show meeting, but it's being Sky plussed.
  4. Here's a second vote for Martin. 1st class and sensibly priced.
  5. Alun Have a great trip. If you could pick up a Glacier Bay 2680 Island Runner I'd greatly appreciate it. Will pay you at the next club meeting. Tom

    Maxximus Rods

The Maxximus rods make a good second rod. The sort of thig you pass to a mate who is joining you to try the sport for the day, but do bare in mind that a decent set of rings that are truly "braid rings" will be around
  7. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone Tune in to S4C this Thursday at 20:25 for a brand new fishing show. If you are at the meeting, Sky Plus it! This is in Welsh, but subtitles are available and anyway, it's fishing who needs the words. "Sgota", starring Julian Lewis Jones the actor (Invictus, The Tudors, Torchwood and many more) is an all new show with the first episode fishing for Blue and Porbeagle Shark aboard White Water with Andrew Alsop in Milford Haven. Jules may be an actor, but this is a show made by a mad keen angler, for mad keen anglers and whilst it isn't in my first language (the only Welsh I know has been from road signs!) I can't wait to see it. The first series is 6 shows with a new series planned for next year too. I am very proud to say that Jules is a mate of mine and I wish him every success with the show. Tightlines
  8. I rent a house on what was a dairy farm, now arable. I have access to a very large cow shed that I could and would be pleased to store the boat in. At least until my landlord told me it needed shifting, but there is no reason they would ask us to move it unless we were taking the mickey. No charge apart from a nice bottle of red at Christmas and possibly the odd expense paid inshore bass trip! You would need to make sure she is insured and locked up with a spare key for the clamp / hitch lock at mine in case I needed to shift her for some obscure reason. Nice and quiet and apart from a few birds, cats and possibly a rat or two you shouldn't have any issues.
  9. I did! Yay! Am I no longer allowed to call you Charlie Chunder?
  10. Would love to help Charlie It would be a lie to say that people are lining up to buy them, but it is busy and if she is presented well and fairly priced (may be a smidge over priced - smidge is a nautical term).
  11. Ahem... The launch date may be wrong.

Has Martin run out of all the stock that was donated?
  13. Just to give you a heads up. Friend of PBSBAC and angling celeb Henry Gilbey has just launched a new magazine called Adventure Fishing. It hit the shelves this week and you can pick up your copy at Smiths and any other stockist of Newsquest publications. Or buy online at http://www.adventurefishingmagazine.com It aims to be different. No bleak fishing on the canal No staring at motionless rod tips on a damp beach All about Adventure Fishing whether that be hanging under a bush for monster Barbel, Coalfish in Norway, Amazing UK shore fishing or... the most amazing Marlin in Cape Verde. Henry kindly asked me to produce a few lines for the first issue which I was very pleased to do and I suspect he will welcome content from many us so long as it follows the Adventure Fishing theme. (I just tried to upload a PDF scan of the front cover and my short article to the picture gallery (where it is) to then put here, but can't get it to show up... any ideas?)
  14. I'll be there, screwed if I am paying those prices though! Hope to see you all, please come and say hi on the Sea Ray stand (near the Champagne Bar). No fishing boats this year for me... :-(
  15. I use a Bob a Wallet and a Hammer. Now my boat goes a little faster for a little more fuel and breaks a little less often.

    Sea Bee

Bad luck Dennis. The boat and engine separately are both very good I am sure. Sadly there have been a few grumbles about the particular builder if it is who I am thinking. Not from me, just heard a fair few comments banded around. Salterns will sort it out for you, but be aware, there is some talk that Yamaha are completely pulling out of the inboard market. They have never been big players with inboards and have recently lost a big contract which I believe went to Yanmar. Make sure you can get your spares. Tom
  17. My mistake. My PBSBAC gallery is pretty full. I used to save everything there as it was easy to access in the future. Now it struggles to upload anything and takes an awful long time so I am having to store pictures elsewhere. ...promise they weren't enormously exciting anyway!
  18. Hi John I don't think you need to be a member to view peoples profiles etc (assuming they have allowed them to be public).
  19. There is talk (drunken talk from the hotel bar) that we may be needing to bring the world famous big game boat "The Hooker" up from Ghana to Madeira at some point. That will be an interesting one and may involve some dodgy African coast hops or straight out to Cape Verde 300 miles then Canaries 850 miles before Madeira about another 300 miles. The owners (a bunch of American guys) are running someone elses boat in Madeira right now, but fancy having their own boat there. Not completely sure, but think she is a Bertram, but I know she holds the record for the most Blue Marlin caught on bait in one day... 20 from the same Channel in the Cape Verdes that I got my record for the most on lures (15).
  20. Try again! It may take you to my profile page. If it does, please click on photos and then Madeira delivery album
  21. Hi Guys I've used my Facebook photo album to store these pics as my PBSBAC one is rather full, but anyone who is interested in the delivery of Atlantic Explorer to Madeira can view the pics here http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?a...55454701&ref=mf The pics don't really do things justice as many were taken at dawn or dusk and you really can't see the sort of seas we were contending with either. For the record: Santander Marina was pleasant with great staff. La Coruna was a lovely marina with super staff Figueira was a dump, but the staff were nice. Cascais was a concrete jungle, but excellent and the staff were great. Made all the better by the complimentary bottle of wine! Funchal was chaotic, but the staff were nice enough. Check out / book the boat at: Madeira Sport Fishing

    Boat Storage

Hi No I dont, I did think about buying one when I bought the boat but as I was planning on keeping the boat in the water all year round I didnt need one. I'm going to keep my eyes open for a second hand one though. Cheers ! Stu Stu Got a great second hand trailer here. SBS roller trailer with twin axles that looks together. The owners don't need it as they are dry berthing with us and I think they'll sell for about
  23. Wearing my flip flops as I type... In Madeira. Quite an adventure. Some 1100nm including 520 in open water. Tied up in Funchal marina at 12:15 this morning. Spent the night in a lovely hotel from where I am now, a bit of boat tidying this lunchtime and an afternoon taking a dip in the ocean. Home tomorrow. Tom
  24. Looking at the weather charts for my trip tomorrow is like looking for a fishing trip here. Only about 1200 nautical miles worse! Looking distinctly breexy with 4m swells on the coastal section at the moment! Shipping forecasts are Rough to Very Rough. Oh dear.
