Hey Guys As some of you know, I work closely with Sea Dangler and sometimes BFM, a thread like this should be sent directly to Jim Whippy's email add. He WILL pick it up and read it. The same type of thread is running on WSF as we speak. If readers are not very happy with the mag content then do something about it and let them know. A lot of times a feature is placed as they have nothing else to print (apart from more adverts) so contact the editors and tell them your gripes. All the mags have the editors contact details and they will read letters and emails. I can't guarantee an instant response, but despite gripes over virtually all the magazines they do take notice. Great report Alun A+ and a gold star! Shame about the fishing, but it is slowly starting to come together and I reckon pretty soon we will be getting and placing the sort of reports we have spent the start of this year dreaming about. Tom

Yeah, but that isn't 18 miles and I can't think of a wreck in it.....?

Up to 50 foot with Jeanneau 116 foot with Azimut and about 250 foot with Benetti Let me know what takes your fancy Bob. If it is the larger one, the 50 foot Jeanneau makes a cracking tender! Getting two means your crew of 10 will have something to play with on their time off.

Good luck al those fishing tomorrow! Unfortunately I cannot fish or visit the jumble due to parental duties , but wish you all well, with the first Bream, some Bass, some Wrasse (of various species), Pollock, Cod, Plaice, Turbot, Conger, Smoothound, Doggies, Ling, Mullet (red, golden grey, thin and thick lipped), mackeral, herring, flounder, several sole and a stray thresher to each and every boat. Tom

I can certainly help there too Bob!!!

That's true Pete I don't know any wreck that deep this side of the Hurds....? The water this side is all around 200ish' Makes me feel better, couldn't have been duff numbers from me! Still a cracking Cod!

Anyone interested? I have a stack of questions from boatsand outboards so don't expect her to hang around, even a trader is likely to offer close to the asking price (someone I deal with regularly so don't doubt his word). Would rather sell it to someone I know as I am sure it is a good one. Anybody? Tom

It always concerns me that builders / owners need to fit sponsoons on their boats to make them stable. The fact it needs them makes me think I wouldn't want to take it anywhere that a lake or river....

Top Job Adam Well done mate. Was it my numbers that were out or someone else's? If mine, sorry! If not.... can I ahave the right ones please! Well done to Gordon too, cracking Cod mate. Tom

Well done Sam, you really deserved it. Tom

Never mind the shetland or orkney, just make sure you can tell apart Beneteau, Quicksilver, etc from your Jeanneau at a distance ....... Not normally a problem with that Kam. So long as I can see the windows or the coachroof I can tell 'em apart up to about half a mile or so. I did get a Beneteau 650 and 6.6 muddled the other day whilst talking to someone else though. The 650 is outboard driven and the 6.6 is similar to our new 655 inboard. The poor guy has just got a 650 and I was telling him all about how lovely a single screw was to handle once you ahd mastered the slight oddities. He seemed to be convinced I knew what I was talking about so I guess he truly is a beginner....

Boniface, Bonneville, something like that. Like said, I know nothing about bikes, but this one is stunning. Now Orkney, Shetland, Arran I can tell apart.

Happy Birthday Kam Have a great day mate. Tom

Not sure if any guys on the forum are into their motorbikes, but the chap whose Orkney I am selling also has a bike for sale and I am rather ignorant about them, but it looks awesome. Here goes: 'Y' Plate Kawasaki W650 in deep red with a stack of chrome all over. Loads of saddle bags and bits n bobs. 500 miles only since new and absolutely untouched. Kept garaged under a proper cover and never ridden anymore. It is kind of retro looking, those in the know will know the model, but it is apparently a replica of a Triumph Boniface ......? or something like that anyway. Not your typical dragster superbike thingy, but a major head turner.

FOR SALE Selling for a friend: What looks like a pukka Orkney Longliner 16 with Yamaha 15Hp 4 stroke. All sitting on the original Orkney Trailer. The engine looks virtually unused with a perfect prop and is fitted with Dolphin Hydrofoils. Stored in a garage away from the boat. The boat is tarpaulined on the owners drive and looks close to perfect. I had a very quick glance around and could see a transducer, but don't know what if any fish finder will be at the end of the wires... Fitted with a dark blue folding spray dodger it gives large cuddy style protection when raised, but has the option to lower on better days. The boat benefits from a small steering console and full remotes with a centrally mounted bucket seat aft of the normal thwarts. Pictures can come for those who are interested, just had a quick glance and it looks superb. The owner purchased her in '99, but her hull number shows she was built in '98. Lying on her trailer at his house in Branksome any viewing to potential buyers is welcome. Great package, sea worthy and looks ready to go. Offers around

Mine is sitting in Weymouth and you arw welcome to take a peak, however it really depends on the type, model and make you want to fit and also the boat you would like to put them on. Tom

Hi Dick No need to give too much detail, but are we talking Schole, South or Casquets or "AN Other"? Mark at Alderney Angling gave me some info the other day, but all the help I can get will be good as I will be over on my own boat the same time as the rest of teh guys are coming over with Chris C. Please PM if you would rather not publish on the forum. Thanks Tom

Half a dozen bream were taken on Poole Patch last weekend. Don't know the size, but think it was a charter boat.
-
Hi Rich I am not allowed to play until Alderney so Quest II is likely to be on her moorings this weekend. If you do see her out, she has either been nicked or is being crewed by one of the other owners. Tom

Welcome onboard Scott. Enjoy Espadon and fishing alongside Mark and other club members. All the best Tom

Well no takers on the run round this morning, but probably just as well as it took two hours to get to S'ton with a car fire on the A31 then punching tide all the way back. The usual "cobbles", through the Solent shortly followed by a very "interesting" swell that was stepp enough to get the shaft driven propeller out of the water as you toppled down the wave. Boat handled great and apart from some very minor wiring cock-ups should fly through the commissioning process. Tom

No takers? Oh well another lonely trip round all on my own If anyone can come I'll be leavng Salterns (by car) at 07:15......
