Thursday 10th is looking as if it will be nice out and a bit warmet than the coming weekends wintery antics.....Im on my paternity leave now and want to get out. Anyone else heading out and fancy buddying (assuming Dan is joining me on our boat). Lets hope the planned weather does what its suppose to....but very much doubt it! Dommy

Nice one Dan, even got rid of the rope that was hanging down.

Glad you had some success guys, i managed to get out for a few hours first thing but how cold was it at 7am when we launched. Fished the ledge for a few hours just hoping for something to get the cold out our heads cos it was bloody freeeeezin! About half hour in the first bite came my way, only a dogfish but probably the first time ive ever been happy to catch one.....that was that really, for the next few hours we got plagued by them but cant complain cos id rather be catching them than blanking in the icy wind. Had 1 good bite that was no doggy but managed to miss it....sods bloody law. Was just happy to be out to sea for the first time in months and give the boat a good blast, the wind was getting stronger by the minute and the sea was getting grottier all the time so headed in about midday. That is that form me for a few months now so bring on spring time! Dom

And you Charlie, Hope the fish play ball for you and look forward to the banter on Ch6. All the best lads, Dom
-
Well if today is anything to go by then tomorrow should be ok out there. The weather window is still quite small but definately fishable...... Good luck alun and co and ill give you a shout tomorrow to see how your getting on to see if your doing any better than me! Dom
-
Yeah its a small window Duncan but im only going for a few hours to freeze my gonads off . Will be my last trip until the breaming in the spring so really fancy it. The tides are small and the wind from N/NW in the morning so hopefully should be ok. If not i will head up the stour again for a couple of hours piking as per last week when i landed a 2lb 6oz perch on a 6" shad! I am praying to the weather gods so play ball now. Dom
-
Agree Alun, it will be freeeeeeeezin but should be fishable. Fingers crossed! Anyone else out?
-
I might be out for a few hours on saturday with a guy from work. Will only be in the morning though first light for an 11ish return through the run. Will be bloody cold out there though but maybe a conger or 2 to find off the ledge! Dom
-
Cheers Alun, top advice once agian from our resident expert! Good luck. Dom
-
Guys, im out from Mudeford tomorrow for a few hours off the ledge will be heading back in about 4:30pm.....is this too late to get in as the LW is 7pm and 0.5m....i dont want to get caught out by the LW and the bar so what do you guys reckon is the latest time to get back in....? If not ill go out from wick and head up the stour piking instead. The Dat Dam Boat boys are back in action! Dommy
-
If we can get our boat back on the trailor in time i may be up for a bash also.....i gotta get our boat back on the water soon! Dom
-
Good report guys, the weather gods were obviously playing ball for once. Good to see plenty of whiting caught! Well done! Dom
-
Tel, weather window......probably lasted about 2 minutes! Been blowin a hooly most of the day and pi$$in down most of the time! Mate, not lookin good for rest of the month really!
-
As the title suggests......Keen..... Sound a tad too keen for me Alun, that window looks a bit too small for my liking.! If you do get out then good luck and hope your perseverance pays off! All the best mate! Dom

On the subject of fuel consumtion, my mate Darren who was a trainee skipper and worked on the QE2 for about 2 years told me the other day that the QE2 burns about a gallon of fuel per foot travelled....or something similar ! Now that is burning fuel!
-
Alun, cod fever indeed, and your right .....ive got it bad! Charlie......thanks for puttin up that piccy......how to bring a man down! I get my boat usable again and now the weathers shite i cant go and you start puttin up pics like that knowin full well that i cant go out and get one for myself.......... Im sulking in my office checking metcheck and boy things arent promising for gettin out any time soon....... Oh well maybe next year ! Possibly have to join Alun in the harbour for a spot of flounderin! Dom
-
Cheers fella's! Yeah i know Alun, its sods law, just as we can eventually go fishing, the weather turns too crap to go out but fingers crossed for a break soon as i want a cod before the season ends and they all bugger off. Paul, Dan told me what happened on Neo last weekend, what a shocker. Good luck with the fixing of it mate and ill be well up for buddying/crewing/ or being crewed when we can. I want to catch a cod! Dom
-
Hallo-bloody-luya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well after having the boat craned off the trailor about 6 weeks ago, we have finally got the trailor fixed, stub axel's replaced, new bearings, trailor rubbed down and repainted.....and looking half decent! Getting the boat back on the trailor in the next few days so hopefully there is still enough time for the boys of 'DAT DAM BOAT' to get out amongst the cod that seem to be gettin caught everywhere! Hopefully plan a trip out within a fortnight if someone wants to buddy us for a trip.....need a buddy as its been so bloody long i have forgotten what anything does! Fingers crossed for some catch reports from Dan & I before the season ends next month! Dom
-
Alun, that is an incredible fish. Well done mate, truley deserved after the effort you put in. I know it wasnt the target species, but a fluke that i would love to catch. Well done that man. Top fishing! Dom
