  1. I'd like to come out, if anyone's got room for a complete novice?
  2. No problem, it's yours... as long as it doesn't float away in the meantime!
  3. Congrats!
  4. I might need to use it to get across my patio today Still, apart from that it's unused as-new condition (bought it and then discovered that my wall cavities aren't 75mm!
  5. For the novice and nervous amongst us: What qualifies as favourable please? And is it the same as comfortable?
  6. Hi All can anybody make use of a sheet of cavity wall insulation? 1 sheet (2.4m x 1.2m) of 75mm polystyrene. I live close to the club meeting venue and can hold on to it until then if that helps. C. P.S Could make a massive bass float out of it!
  7. Well, that certainly shows hows it's done!! Well done Gents.
  8. Well done everyone. This weather is really p155ing me off Was planning to make this my first comp but the forecast put me off... at least I finally got the cars washed!
  9. Is that a Radar Reflector on the back of the cabin?
  10. I have a suspicion that's exactly what Adam wants it for...
  11. Being the belt and braces sort of chap that I am, I helped Adam's Wedding Fund by purchasing an aux from him. I have the same fuel set up as Harry. The very first time out in Star Turn we ended up requiring the aux. Case rests! Even if the prevailing conditions mean that your aux doesn't allow you to make much headway, it should be able to hold you away from dangerous obstacles? C.
  12. Go on Mike, how much was 'not cheap'?
  13. Spent June 9th, my 34th Birthday, on Jersey at a Wedding, so sadly no boats involved all weekend. There was a free bar though, so it was a great birthday! Bit late in responding to this as we had no PC in Jersey (where we spent the rest of the week) and have no working PC at home at the moment either!
  14. Every morning I drive down past Bounemouth pier on the way to work to have a look at the sea. I think I need to stop torturing myself as during the week it is invariably like a millpond. This morning it was like a mirror all the way to the horizon. Then, full of anticipation for a weekend trip out, I take a look at the forecast sites on the internet and what do I see? At least the forcast for Saturday seems to be improving... Roll on retirement! Anyway, CharlieCam for today: Perfect flat sea, blue sky, no wind
  15. Nope, wasn't me, mores the pity.
  16. Heeeeelllllooooo! I said I'd by it!
  17. Hi Dave Assuming it's the blue calor gas (13kg?) I'll take it off your hands, please! C.
  18. I knew I'd seen it somewhere...
  19. Anyone doing a Marketing Degree- this could be an excellent case-study! I'd expect that such an influencial report as this would have a real impact on supply and demand. I'd be very suprised if (patents allowing) other manufacturers did not subsequently bring out their own versions of Sea-Me, or at least the volume sold of actual Sea-Me's to increase which would mean lower unit manufacturing price? Either way, it can only mean reduced cost for us the consumers?
  20. Please can we have a reminder of what we are supposed to do!

    Wiring

I used marine 'tinned' cable when I rewired Star Turn, sourced from Sea Screw The Battery cable that they list isn't tinned, but in my case my battery cabling is easily accessible.

  23. Welcome to PBSBAC Malc- you've come to the right place. The guys here (not me you understand, I'm as green as can be) are absolute stars. What they don't know ain't worth knowing. Someone will be along shortly with some specifics, but I have spent 12 months getting my luxurious 27 year old Shetland seaworthy, got qualified, made my two succesful trip out, have stayed safe throughout, and have even caught some fish due to the skills and knowledge passed on by the members of this club. And the Chairman even has a Karnic! C.
  24. Happy Birthday to Both! C.
  25. Duncan- Yep a Casio Exilim EX-Z60. It's no SLR but it's very small so will comfortably go in a pocket, and has a decent resolution and an 3x optical zoom. And most importantly it was half price in Asda! I've also got a Canon A620 which takes better shots, but doesn't fit in a pocket. Dave- the Ray went back into the water immediately after the photo was taken and it swam happily away.
