  1. Personally I think we should be fishing using the correct specimen weights as opposed to some dodgy Sea Angler list - especially as I was intending on targeting Bull Huss !! Surely it is only a spreadsheet Bob ? The NFSA list matches our records list rather well.
  2. Interesting. Some of the specimen weights in the club records were changed in Dec 2002 for some reason. I was planning on using the club record list as well, so glad this has been brought up ( not that I will be winning anything ). Presume there must have been a good reason for changing some of the weights in Dec 2002. PS: Glad its not winter as the Whiting specimen size for Area D is 35 lb
  3. Also, isn't a little early to be catching trigger fish. I thought it would need to warm up a little more yet ??

    Happy Birthday

    All the best Trevor.
  6. Is that Smart tabs Andy ?
  7. Not bad for only his second fish ever ! Weight varied between 3.25 and 3.5 lb, so easy 3.25 lb and released to fight another day.
  8. Belated birthday wishes Sam. Didn't realise it was your birthday yesterday when I called the fish in, otherwise I would have wished you a happy birthday then ! Hope you had a good one.
  9. Paul, Never mind next week - the tip is open now, so get down there PS: I am still hunting for crew for the Saturday and Sunday of the 48Hr Comp.

Nice fish Dan, we had a good day too. Couldn't sleep so decided to head off earlier than the planned time, so persuaded my son, Mark, that he really ought to get into this fishing lark, dragged him out of bed and off for an 8 AM launch. Got to the mark whilst tide was still flooding and dead quiet at that time. No worm, so fished purely with squid. Had a couple of doggies and then a couple of small huss ( bit more vicious than doggies I noticed ! ), then a couple of pout. No bream yet Then as the tide slackened got into a lovely conditioned female bream. Then Mark caught his first fish - a doggie. Mark then hooked into something much better. A good fight and a female bream which weighed in between 3.25 and 3.5 lbs ( I took the lower weight of 3lb 4oz ) - quick piccie on his mobile phone and returned to fight another day. He was well chuffed. Then it was my turn with a good sized male bream. PJ witnessed weighing back in the harbour where we compared sizes of fish. I forget the weight but was around 3lb I seem to recall ? Plan was to steam around to Poole for the family day gathering but weather put paid to that, so went fishing instead

    Tope Video

Stumbled on this video. ( Language is a bit strong in places ). Nice fish for first one caught and good to see it go back.
  12. True, but still worth catching them !
  13. Tom, Don't go buying any blank CD-Roms as I usually get them dirt cheap from Novatech ( I assume it was a tongue in cheek remark but just in case ! ... )

    Help

Mike, E-Mail the photo to me ( webmaster@pbsbac.co.uk ) and I will see what I can do. ( should be no problem ).
  15. I have been pondering over getting this one for the boat - would be interested if anyone has one already. Cheap video camera
  16. Tom, Count me in please. Sounds great fun. It would also be good if someone could bring a video camera as well ( Digital would be best - but I have an old analogue one if no-one has one ). I have a nice new fangled DVD Recorder / editor etc and would be more than happy to compile a DVD with "action" shots.
  17. Dan, I would be up for a trip on the weekend ( any day will do ). I will be looking for crew if anyone is interested. Need to see the weather calming down somewhat first though !
  18. Bob / Wedger, Not sure how much. I will ask tomorrow and is it OK to forward your details ?
  19. A work colleague of mine is looking for an auxiliar engine to rpelace his seized up one. 3 to 4 HP to use on a tender. Does anyone have anything they would like to sell ?
  20. Mike reported reply :- The big Walmarts have a sporting goods section with a good range of tackle, rods, reels, rapalas, all sorts of braid, and polaroid fishing sun glasses etc. Also VERY good quality T shirts at silly money, Also note, in Walmart if they have left an item unpriced you get it free! A big chain called 'Sports Authority' is a must for a visit. You can buy anything from a spoole of line up to a $250000 sports cruiser ready to go. They tend to be far more professional then Walmart, with bang up to date info about who is catching what where with which rod and whatever lure and all very gung ho slap yer back fellah! Manly sportsman sorta thing. But then again you pay for it. Walmart is just a shop with loads of very well priced gear. Also where ever you go it is well worth checking out the boating/chandlery sections where you sometimes find amazing bargains like a set of 4 matched fenders with ropes for $29.99 and they can supply them deflated for you to pack, or soft leather dock shoes at $20. Sears are a good bet too if there is one near you (The Florida Mall Kissamee ?) . K mart is where you buy the local fishing licences (sea and fresh) and they too have very reasonable sports sections. Good hunting. Mad Mike
  21. Went to walk the dog down Highcliffe and the waves were huge. Windsrufers were having a field day. Yesterday, took a trip to Mudeford ( avoiding the bomb en-route ! ) and looked pretty rough. I suspect Sunday could be looking a bit rougher as the wind was forecast to be onshore ?
  22. 4th June is one day I CANNOT fish. Therefore, moving the bream comp to this date would mean two comps I cannot fish
  23. Windguru is giving 18 knots southerly , 2.5 to 3 metre waves ( they always do get carried away with wave height ) and 9mm of rain over the 3 hours to 1 pm. Grim. I can't see myself going out in that.

Gordon, He is on a laptop now - ( I intend to trade some PC repair expertise for some Tope fishing tips )
  25. I delayed your PM Gordon ( only kidding ).
