  1. Alun, Took the dogs down to Highcliffe beach this evening and Christchurch Bay looked almost flat calm. A beautiful evening to be out I thought. ( Mind you I bet it was rougher the other side of the ledge ).

Made me laugh anyway Kent Blag Cash Wifes Box...
  3. The catch from yesterday was :- Plaicemat and Alun J on Stingray had 5 fish. Mark B and Sam on Enticer had 2 fish + 2 dogfish. Me and Steve on Neo had 1 fish. Weather stopped play.
  4. Dave, the article on your site regarding the fitting to an Orkney Day Angler 19 is very interesting. Given that the Day Angler has the same - semi-displacement hull design as my boat, it wold imply that they could be good to fit. More tempted now....
  5. Going Thursday now ( as you know ). BTW: Whilst looking for latest catch reports I thought I recognised this person..... Some shirtlifter with a flatty !

    Launching Wick

Adam, That was exactly my thoughts, I cant think of any weather conditions ( barring a hurricane ! ) that would prevent retrieval at Wick.
  9. Thanks for the report Rich, we will have to try to add to the catch reports section ( wouldn't hold your breath form my past efforts though ! ). BTW: I understand a few turbot have been caught to mackeral strip, so will be trying for those as well.
  10. Simon, I am also planning to fish the Shambles alongside Plaicemat and Alun J on the Friday ( weather willing ). I have crew though - so if you can get crew that will be three boats going. Paul
  11. Rich, Exactly my plan ( to fish Southbourne if windier ). Will decide nearer the day. ( I suspect I may have a buddy boat as well in Terry ( Plaicemat ) and Alun J , so no probs there. )
  12. Planning on taking day off work on Friday and fishing the Shambles if the wind holds off ( forecast is for lower swell on Friday but as much due to the smaller sized tides I guess ) If it is looking windier then will probably fish out of Christchurch. Anyone know what the smaller neap tides fish like on the Shambles ?
  13. Just looking through the Surfing website and apparenly the water temp at Soutbourne is on the up - up to 7 deg C now....
  14. It would be really good if you could get it into today's echo....
  15. Sneaked out on Neo with Elaine on coming home from work on Friday. Word was that no-one had recorded a fish for the whole of the month and this was last chance city. I blanked but Elaine had a 4oz Pout which I guess we will have to record PS: I understand the French call these fish "Le poisson De'Avril"
  16. See catch reports.....
  17. Got a ball hitch lock on the trailer as well - nice cheap way of preventing the trailer from being towed.
  18. Oops !

    Happy Birthday

Happy birthday Adam - have a good one.
  20. Still chained to pipe - but your scenario is not possible - the gate post is a wooden one I think Rich thought it was a little unsafe ( on a similar level to sticking your arm down the shute of a shredder .... ). Seriously though, it is not possible to leave the trailer attached to the pipe and then attach it to the car - my chain is long but not that long enough.
  21. Now where would anyone get the idea of chaining the trailer to the gas mains inlet Imagine - "Fire, police or ambulance ? " Well err - all 3 please
  22. Noticed that too - was planning on sneaking off to Weymouth on Friday but that is looking less likely as Friday approaches.
  23. Sure there are enough bass there ! - I would be happy with one of those, let alone 23 of em

    Launching Wick

Trevor, No problem wrt. retrieval in poor weather at Wick. It is well up river, so does not get rough in the wind. ( I am assuming this is your concern ).
