I anchor from the side usually, so no problems there, however, suspect that I will end up with a tank full of water at the back still as it is all set up for that already.

Trevor, I need a 60 litre - 24 inch high barrel I believe. I am currently considering fitting it to thw front of the boat at the moment though as could do wonders for my weight distribution

The father of a work colleague of mine is selling his Orkney. It is barely used. I will get some photos if anyone is interested. Orkney 20 Ft Pilot house (2 Years old), the engine is a 1.7 litre Turbo diesel, max speed 27Knots. New it cost me

Kam, Helms are usually on the port side for reasons of cancelling out the torque from the propellor ( so I read ). Come to think about it, have you seen a boat with the helm on the port side ?
-
Paul, If you are getting a blue barrel, then could you get two and I will take one ( can save on postage I presume ).

Many of the moorings in Christchurch are council moorings / or Bournemouth and West Hants Water moorings. There is a waiting list for most ( all ? ) of these. Especially the ones where you are in water all the time ( Like those around Tuckton tea gardens )
-
Presumably fitting to the port side does not make sense because the lead then has to be run over to the helm position on the starboard side. So might as well start with the starboard side.

Mike, Interesting thought regarding O/B tanks as I must admit I usually fill mine up whilst it is sitting in the boat . I suspect that any static charge would have been dispersed through the trailer and trailer wheels though ( says he with fingers crossed ! ). Not totally convinced that a boat being filled from a pump is not electrically connected to the pump in any case. This connection would be via tank to anode to sea water to earth to pump. Does this sound feasible ?

No - that singular vote is mine ;-) Try to vote again - it will work I promise you

Welcome to the forum Markee_b ( at first I thought you were our existing member Mark B with Enticer, but I can see this is not the case ! ). Welcome to the forum.

Burnham Club now have a web site. I have added it to the web links page ( now how many people go there I wonder ! ) If you want the link go to the web links page and look it up. Also, feel free to add you own links as well if you know any good ones. The Burnham link is under Fishing / Clubs and the web links page can be found here :- Web Links

Not according to the manual. Three yearly.

Neo's trailer has always been a little light on the towbar ball and since having the E-Tec fitted ( which is 103 Kg as opposed to the previous 67 Kg Honda ) this has made the towball weight even less. Therefore, I have moved the axle of the trailer back by an inch and it has made all the difference. ( Mind you whilst doing this I spotted a nasty gouge in the bottom of the boat from when the boat twisted whilst being launched one day last year - repair job needed sometime. ) I also, spotted that the boat was not sitting straight on the rollers either, so is actually sitting off one pair of rollers altogether, so some adjustments needed as well I think. I was going to replace the hubs and bearings this weekend ( Only something like

Alun, Yes, come to think about it you have a point as I had to change the anode on the Honda recently as well. The E-Tec doesn't use a trim anode, it has one at the bottom of the leg and another on the engine mount, so I will be keeping an eye on these. Even so, no dealer servicing required for 3 years.

It has to be Fishing on the Edge with Henry Gilbey, purely because the enthusiasm he has for the sport. Matt Hayes - finds he gets irritating for some reason. IFish - that has some good boat fishing shots ( ie. They launch their boats as well sometimes ). Extreme Fishing is one that Helen likes but that is nothing to do with the fishing

Anyone want to chat using the site chat. I will be in there for next 1 hour.

No gear oil to change ( 2 stroke ) Plugs last 3 years + Shouldnt have to change anodes ( as trailing ). Manual states all that you need to do annually is grease the propellor splines and the fittings ( ie. Tilt mechanism ). Although I intend to drop the gearbox annually or risk the mounting bolts getting stuck.
-
Brian, It will work as a runtime meter, but my engine apparently has one built in and I dont have any need to measure the runtime now as servicing isn't due for 3 years However, as I now have a 2 stroke it will not read the correct engine RPM ( 2 sparks per rev. as opposed to one ).

Ah - I see where I got the links wrong. Anyhow, I had exactly the same thoughts Tom.
-
Puzzled how that can be so ( as I have checked here and in the database ) - Is this link wrong for anyone else ? Adam try the alternative URL here :- Coastguard Video
-
Found this on the net - shows why you should keep a good lookout. However, from what I thought I understood the coastguard vessel is at fault as they should give way ? - Opinions anyone .... Coastguard Boat Crash

From FishUpdate.com Hunt is on for additional haddock 13 February, 2006 - SCOTTISH White Fish Producers' Association chairman Mike Park said today they were getting down in earnest to exploring possibilities for sourcing additional haddock for the fleet. At present, there are fears that North Sea haddock supplies will dip sharply from September unless additional supplies can be sourced through international swaps, posing a crisis for processors and catchers alike. Mr Park, who was heading for France today as part of the search said they were determined to leave no stone unturned. "We are carrying out sweeps of various member states but the problem is a lack of trading currencoy on our part. But we feel we have to get out there and identify the opportunities wherever they are." The impact of this year's cut in the UK haddock quota is sending alarm bells ringing throughout the shore and seagoing sector with warnings already that key processing skills could be lost forever if processing factories have to close down in the autumn due to lack of raw material. ............................. Swaps ease haddock shortage 17 February, 2006 - TWO significant international swaps have been secured in a bid to ease the UK's North Sea haddock shortfall. According to industry sources, one of the deals is potentially controversial, given that the UK has given 300 tonnes of cod to Germany in exchange for 900 tonnes of haddock. The other swap involves 500 tonnes of saithe going to Denmark in exchange for 330 tonnes of haddock. Before these swaps, the UK was facing a 13% cut in its haddock allocation for this year but swapping cod for haddock may be seen as controversial partly as some UK skippers may have been tempted to fish more cod because of lower haddock availability. But one industry spokesman said today that nontheless, the additional haddock was very welcome."There are clearly signs that the fisheries departments are aware of the problems facing the fleet and are trying to do something about them."
