    New Boat

Will, Have crew now - Gordon is coming along ( I have sent you PM with my contact details ). Now feeling guilty as I noted that Kam had a message re: Crew for Sunday 10th July. Perhaps we can get some other boats along and make a trailaway of it ( or we could keep all those smoothies to ourselves ). Anyone else up for Lymington Sunday 10th ? ( hoping that the weed is not as bad as last time we fished there .... )
  2. Must learn how to identify these me thinks !

    New Boat

Will, I see you are coming down to Lymington on Sunday. I will endeavour to get some crew and will join up with you if you wish ?
  4. Undulate I would go for. Was this caught at X-Ray or near to X-Ray ( as in the co-ordinates I gave you from last week ? )

    Cobbs Quay

Mike, I was lazy once at Weymouth and parked in the multi-storey by the slipway. Can't remember the price but something like
  6. Geoff, If your next launch is from Wick. BEWARE !! There is a considerable drop off at the end of the concrete. On launch the other week I managed to bottom out the trailer and it would not have been retrievable without 4WD. At least when the slipway had holes in it there wasnt a dropoff like there is now. Lymington on the other hand is superb ( but can be pricey -
  7. I am actually beginning to regret catching it now
  8. Agree with above. Length of aerial cable is irrelevant ( provided it has a 50 ohm connector on the end - which it will have ).

    Boat Buying Advice

I was going to suggest that your best bet is to join tghe club, come along to a meeting and get to crew on others boats. This way you will be able to see the differences between boats. Re: Fishing 4 people, I have a 17 ft boat and have fished with three ( it is rated up to five ! ) but even with three it gets cramped ( actually can get cramped with two when Sam comes onboard with all his sandwiches ). ie. You will need bigger to fish 4. I am considering going up in size to a 19ft but the costs rise exponentially. re: Trailing or mooring. I would say trailing is much cheaper.

Charlie, I will burn the contents of my images folder onto CD / DVD. I think they are nearly all on the web site, but just in case not you will have every picture I have.

Sam, I was going to suggest the same as Dan. Plenty of boat pics on those pages.
  16. Nothing to do with fishing but they are ships ..... Went to the Fleet Review and "Son et luminaire"celebrations as part of Trafalgar 200. Anyone else go to this last night ? Absolutely awesome. 12 tons of fireworks..... There was some serious naval hardware on display. I was considering steaming up in Neo to take an anchorage ( why not ? ) but with F4-F5 winds I thought better of it. If the International Festival of the Sea is as good then it is well worth a visit ( going to this on Saturday ) Anyway Sam, this ship might want to join our club but a little excessive on the length
  17. I wouldn't worry - it was by far my best species comp ever. Just seemed to get lucky ( Usually I end up with two or 3 species if I am lucky ), so maybe I am getting better ( or luckier ).
  18. from the top
  19. I have a yacht winch for sale ( from my mext door neighbour ). Will put on E-Bay if no-one is interested. Any offers. It is a Barbarossa 16 made in Italy
  20. I am certainly not an expert in spinning for them. What I do know though is that the method doesn't necessarily work in other places. Strange but true. Therefore, it is possible that spinning for them doesn't work in Poole Harbour - Is this true ?
  21. Who cares it was 5 points
  22. Simon, I hope this doesn't mean you move ahead of me in scores ?!?! - In which case I would suggest that losing the fish whilst holding the trace is definitely not allowed ( But then I would have a problem as I lost one of my bream this way ! )
