  1. Gordon, I have no crew for the 48 hour. Fancy a night session on the ledge then ?
  2. Just done a long motorway journey in the X-Trail - averaged around 38 MPG which I thought was not bad given I had run the car in on the way up and considering my average speed on the way back Anyone considering getting one I can fully recommend them and they are good off road ( took it throught the forest to Kielder water ) and well comfortable to drive on the motorway. Kam, gummimg up of diesels is a consequence of not giving the diesel a few revs on occasion ( or running them on vegetable oil ! ) - you need to bring out that boy racer streak in you
  3. Indeed - unfortunately there is a slight problem...... Jack needs to catch something / anything first ( and have it photographed of course ).
  4. Thats Rich surely
  5. It now contains the Summer Report. Is it me or is the website downloading particularily slowly today ?

    Wrasse

Sometimes they need to be held in the water for a short while to recover ( I had a bream yesterday which needed to be held until it recovered and then swam off fast ).
  7. OK - updated - anyone can help with the boats types would be much appreciated. I have all the boat names ( from the members list ) but not the types. ( Perhaps would be a good thing to include boat type when registering members in future ?
  8. For reference, these are the boats I currently have in the database. Anyone help fill in the missing details at all ? 9. Alan, That is a good idea. I will do that when time allows ( fishing and work are unfortunately taking it all up at the moment ! )
  10. You can dim the light on the Garmin too, so I presume you can on yours James ?
  11. It was a great day to fish, although I could have done without having a buddy boat that I had to wait for and then ran out of fuel on the way back ( mainly due to our trip out to the banks and back ) Seriously, we went to fish the banks but the tide was far too strong, so then drifted peveril ledge to show Sam how to catch the wrasse and then went to Evans bank where it was bream after bream ( only up to 1 1/2 lb though ). Still, it was only my second trip on Neo out of Poole and I learnt much to make future trips more productive and on another day we could have had a ray ( or two ) and maybe some tope. It was well congested getting back and I even got to retrieve the boat "Burnham style" and did everyone see that rib ( sealegs ) which drove out the water and up the slipway ! thanks to all who organised it - Adam I guess did most of this.
  12. Yes , Kam, we are still going. 7:30 launch from Lymington. Give us a shout on teh VHF - we will be drifting the sconce buoy for mackeral to start then over to Sowley ( ish ).
  13. Hope you had a good birthday Sam and lets hope the day after your birthday brings plenty of luck for whatever boat you are fishing on
  14. Bob, I suggest you may be having a "senior" moment ? Kam is referring to Sunday the 5th ( ie. The week after the Burnham comp and the date of the re-arranged bream comp).
  15. Pheromones surely. I bought the Fladen solid-c rod for Helen ( honestly ! ) and matched it up with a ABU 6600 LD reel. Caught a couple of doggies and pout on it. Helen has had three bream on it ( to 3lb 12 oz ! ). My only regret is not getting the next size up ( 20-30lb as opposed to 12-20lb ).
  16. Mike, I think there are more than the two types of connector. I know my Honda will not take an OMC or Mercury connector - but the Yamaha connector fits the Honda. The Tohatsu looks to be different still. ( See link below ) Fueld Connectors
  17. Wick Slipway ( signposted Wick Public Slipway ) from Christchurch town centre is free to use and parking is
  18. Jack, I now have a cord on my glasses. I didn't even have one of those previously, so they went over a bit too easily. I like the polystyrene idea.

    Dinghy Fishing

Kam, If I am not mistaken, myself and Mike had a few ( very small ) red bream last year in the Solent. Shame we didnt weigh one as I think that is another "open" club record.
  20. Certainly did Paul - It was the most expensive fishing trip I have had to date
  21. Kam, Go for it ! Bring the boat. I am "in the same boat" with regard to lack of marks around Poole. I am sure others will help you out ( In fact I am banking on it ).
  22. I presume it is possible to launch from Baiter on LW that day ? If not then what time will launching be possible.
  23. Make that 11:30 and 18:30 ( forgot to add the hour for BST )
  24. LW looks to be a round 10:30 ish. and HW around 17:30. Tides are smallish I believe ( which is probably a good job if the Solent is full of weed ). If the fishing is really good on the flood then can always come back a little later
