Dont know Dan and with regard to Kam, I think he is only pulling your leg
  2. Martins Turbot picture has been replaced on the front page .......
  3. Gordon, Cushdy would be quite capable of doing 34 knots in 4 foot of water would it not ..... ?

    Anchor Rope

Nice one Bob. Barry is the guy myself and Adam bought some rope from a while back and the rope was superb. I can fully recommend him.

    Monday Eve

and that was from Wick Adam, Take Helen, she will show you where they are
  7. Adam, I don't get out anything like the degree you do ( so I keep telling Helen ), yet my anode is corroding and disappearing at quite a fast rate as well. In fact, your post has reminded me that I really ought to get a new anode sometime and up to now I was also surprised at the speed mine was disappearing at as well.
  8. Had my first trip out on Great White ( many thanks Charlie for an enjoyable day out ). I must say I was well impressed with the way she handles a choppy sea. Fished St Albans Inner Hole with Loyal Royal and Blue Warrior and had nothing, so GW and BW moved to the Outer hole while Mark cooked breakfast for Rich on Loyal Royal Adam ( with BF as crew ) on BW at the Outer Hole had a nice Tope but nothing showing for us. Moved to fish the Sky and Sam had a small conger and I had one drop the bait after one turn. Then caught a pout ( at least this mean't I hadn't blanked on another club boat ) Then off to another wreck where no interest in our bait ( apart from Pout which took rag and feathers within seconds ). Still beats working or watching your football team fail to make the playoffs ( or even getting relegated .... )

    Unusual Boats

Saw this unusual looking boat at Wick. Has anyone seen a boat that looks as striking I wonder ?
  10. Rich, I would be well up for some lessons up at Eastleigh. Will need to get my fly rod back from Sam first Presumably a fishing licence would have to be bought though ?

    14th And 15th

Metcheck often get a little carried away. Did you realise I was out fishing yesterday when there was force 5 - 6 winds in the Solent ( according to Metcheck )
  13. I've still to catch a bream yet.... I've watched two people catch them now ( and you wasn't one of them Sam ).
  14. They were from the mark we went to Sam. I have worked out how to fish it more effectively ( or at least to get the wife fishing it effectively ! ) after getting some tips from the man in Pro tackle

    Tachometer

and Honda is doing 5,800 RPM max so within the operating range of 5,000 - 6,000 RPM although I wasnt able to do the speed I could previously due to being two up and the sea being somewhat rougher

    Tachometer

Well - tried the tachometer and it works a treat. The only downside is the leads are not long enough to put the tacho in my instrument panel. I placed it in the battery compartment at the back of the boat ( only need to see it for a quick look to see how many revs engine is doing ). The unit is sealed so ideal for a marine environment. The battery in the unit is not replacable but apparently last for 5 years. ( Lithium battery ). For

    Rubbish Tip

Mark, The TLD5 is fast becoming a collectors item ( checkout the prices they go for on E-Bay ).
  19. Fished XRay for mackeral then the ledge for Bream and didnt catch any Bream. Helen on the other hand caught three of them to 3lb 10oz.
  20. Jack, I bought one of the new Fladen Solid-C rods from the market in Lymington.
  21. Remind me not to feel sick if I am crewing on your boat Paul

    14th And 15th

Mark, Not according to the calendar. However, I did recall reading somewhere that the last trailaway ( the one I "Bottled out" of due to grotty weather ) was put back to May but then many boats actually went, so maybe it isn't ? I am still tempted to take Neo out for a bash at the smoothies but there again a few Plaice and maybe a turbot would be nice but Weymouth is a fair haul for me ( I guess the Alderney boys are sick of the sight of Turbot though ).
