Martin ( Maverick ) had an Optimax on his Warrior 175 and was happy with it although I think there were some issues with early ones ? I can only say how I have found the E-Tec. I cannot comment on the Opti but personally I wouldn't be put off.

Absolutely love my E-Tec 40. New style 2 strokes ( DI / Optimax / E-Tec ) are not like 2 strokes of old. I know Gordon loved the E-Tec 90 on his warrior as well. I guess anyone who chose an engine is bound to think their choice was best as that would be why they chose it

Very good post. Have problems with my Garmin having an intermittent connection and I am sure cleaning the connector pins will help.

I would second that - Go for Enticer if you can, she is immaculate and absolutely flys with the E-Tec.

"Sport tomorrow" = blank We tried to have a go for a plaice but I guess drifting amongst the nets was not such a good idea. Was well windy, saw Gastronaught out around the head. Still we had a good day out and I got my boat really well cleaned Off to watch Bournemouth now.....

Fished in the bay today, Tried Southbourne Rough, some mark near Hengistbury and then over on Christchurch Ledge. Wind was making it a lumpy day but nice once anchored and sheltered from the wind. Seriously got close to blanking but managed one small Pout to avoid the blank. Matthew ( nephew ) managed a single dogfish. Going to try for some flatties tomorrow.

I have my nephew down to go fishing on Monday and Tues. Any ideas where the best place to take him for a chance of catching something at all ! Looking at the recent catch reports I think he may have a lean time.

Well done on the conservation award Paul. I was well pleased to collect the silver certificate for my Bass too ( and the guys in BASS should be pleased that it will also, hopefully, win the club C&R trophy which they have donated to the club ) It was notable that the club was also mentioned by Geoff Gonella ( I think that was the guy ? ) when he held us up an example of how clubs are moving in the right directions. Finally, have to say the BASS guys certainly didn't come across as "elitist".
