  1. Nice installation - might consider something similar sometime. Being picky as well - it is not "too much voltage". It is "too much current"
  2. Useful Info on Rope types
  3. Funny you mention that farm Kam, I was behind a "New Forest Barrumundi" van only yesterday and wondered what they did exactly,
  4. Not correct. Polyester sinks in the same way as nylon, I think you are confusing Polyester with Polypropelene ( which should be avoided ). Nylon is more suitable for anchoring as it stretches more than Polyester.
  5. Happy birthday from me too. All the best

Graham, I can well advise it - the safety check ( and to any others who are thinking of doing this sometime. ). Opened my eyes to some possible improvements. Mike is itching to do them, so I think we should oblige and keep him busy
  7. Rich was on Shogun along with a few other club members.
  8. zzzzzzz, Gets back from boat, downs tackle and signs petition.
  9. Nice Plaice Tom, I have never had much success with Plaice. Managed the first Pollock of this wrecking season on Shogun though Got a second one ( about the size of the one Tom is holding on the front page ) and that was it for me and I did really well !! Pleasant day out though and not as cold and windy - the sun even came out for a bit as well. Will have to book another trip for later in the year when the fishing has improved.
  10. Certainly is Rich. I understand you are booked back on. See you at Lymington 7AM on Friday. PS: I think there are a couple of spaces spare still if anyone is interested.

Yes - sizes look reasonable to me. It is OK provided the dimensions do not exceed those of the forum page - then the layout goes all awry.

Are you using an image with a "jpg" extension ? What are you putting between the <IMG> </IMG> tags exactly - it has to be a link to the image itself. Easy way to get the URL is to right click on the image displayed in your browser and then select properties. The URL is displayed and can be highlighted and put in the buffer using ctrl-C. Then use crl-V to paste between the <IMG> tags. If anyone wants a demo remind me at the next club meeting and I will show you on Bob F's PC.
  15. Looks good Sam. Are you getting minature stainless steel rails made to fit as well
  16. Its OK Kam, I've seen Mike's fishing gear. It will be quiite safe.
  17. Oh how I enjoy sitting in work looking at the flags not moving at all outside - NOT !

Mike, Make sure you get a sample of the 12mm stuff first and even then check that the rope you will be getting is the same as the sample. I bought some superb 10mm nylon rope off an e-bay vendor and then got some 12mm stuff and it is not in the same class ( I suspect this is the same 12mm stuff that Bob is mentioning ).
  22. Nice report Al. Sitting at work on Friday it didn't look too bad at first, so we looked up the weather station outside Chichester harbour where it was reporting a F5 with F6 gusts. Walking outside it was bloody cold, so well happy to be at work and not sitting mid-channel. Hopefully, weather will be better this coming Friday.... ( re-scheduled to that date )
  23. Welcome Joe. It's good to see some juniors showing an interest and I am sure you will find the forum contains a wealth of information.
  24. Put me down for one please Paul
