  1. Rich, Pop Rob and e-mail as detailed at top of this thread and cc me if that's OK. ( As it is an individuals trip, although I think most/all may be from PBSBAC or work ! ) cheers Paul
  2. Adam, The key part in your case will be that the trailer + payload needs to be less than the weight of the towing vehicle. ( I recon your boat / engine / trailer will weigh around 1400 KG and add batteries / fuel / anchor etc. this will be around 1600 KG ). Provided your car is heavier than this and is rated to tow this weight then no problem. For example a Saab 9-3 Vector Sport 1.9 TiD has a kerbside weight = 1675 Kg and a towing limit of 1600 Kg and I think you can legally tow your boat / trailer using this ( provided it is not over 1600 Kg of course ). I know the Ford Mondeo TDCI has a towing limit of 1800 Kg, so would be interesting to see the kerbside weight of one of those. This is what Duncan is alluding to I think. Just looked at my Civic and the kerbside weight of this is 1180 Kg and the max braked trailer rating is 1500 Kg which presumably means to tow this weight ( ie. That over 1180 Kg you need to have older licence or pass new sections ? )
  3. Impressive tweaking there Duncan. I opted to travel to Cheltenham to watch the Cherries lose again

    Trailer Storage !!

Trailer is around 19 ft long and about the width of a saloon car.
  7. Slight dilema here.... It is possible that my old trailer will not fit around the side of the house ( where I was going to put it until it is sold ). Therefore, does anyone know / have somewhere I could store the old trailer until such time as it is sold ? ( Will be happy to pay a small sum as well if needed ). If you can help, could you drop me a PM

    20 Inches Of Snow

I received this from a work colleague in the States after he had told me they had 1 ft of snow with another 2 ft forecast...... It was titled "20 Inches of snow - English Style" ==================================================== Dear Boss, I am afraid I will be unable to make it to the office today. I opened my front door and there are 20 inches of snow outside. I am attaching a photo to prove it to you. your Honest Employee . . .
  9. Excellent service from OceanTrail. Phoned around and now I have the correct trailer on order. ( The model required from Bramber is an RG2/750 which has an additional 2 keel rollers ). Orkney use Dixon Bates trailers and I was quoted
  10. The cost is actually
  11. Paul, Your comments are correct. Phoned Orkney and they said to get one with support all along the keel ( they use 3 keel rollers ) or you can damage the subframe of the boat. Oceantrail are going to get back to me. Great example of how this website is so useful. Apparently you will damage the subframe and this will potentially write off the boat.
  12. Les / Terry ( or anyone else interested ), If you could email rob@beyondthebluecharters.co.uk and cc me ( webmaster@pbsbac.co.uk ) and ask to be added to the list going, then I will be able to keep a track on who is going ( as I am getting some from work hopefully ). The charter is an "individuals" one and the boat will go if we can get six ( or was it 8 ? ). Cost I think is
  13. Its got a single Keel Roller halfway down. I figured as it has a 520 on it, should be OK for one re: Brakes, it comes with a flushing kit to wash then through after each trip. I see you have just spotted that now
  14. One of these :- Bramber
  15. Myself and Steve ( Westray ) have booked Shogun for a wrecking trip on the 23rd March. All I need now is to fill the remaining 8 places and we can go Anyone interested ?
  16. Was indeed 5-0 to choruses of "Sicknote's on a hat trick, sicknote's on a hat trick....". Also, heard a couple of guys behind me discussing fishing from their boats, must recruit them next
  17. Neo's unbraked trailer , suitable for a 17Ft boat, is going to be for sale in around 2 weeks time. The trailer is a roller trailer with 16 rollers. All the rollers are fixed ( as it has not swinging cradle ) and the bearings were replaced last year. Has new tyre and a spare wheel as well and the winch is almost brand new. Reason for sale is it has no swinging cradle ( for ease of launching the Orkney ) and I am selling the x-trail so want to get a braked trailer to be sure of towing legally ( Neo is getting a bit heavy for an unbraked trailer with a small car ). The trailer is an A-Frame trailer, fully galvanised and extremely sturdily built. Asking price a bargain at
  18. Rich, Refer them to this thread http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=3797 I think this is the one you mean
  19. A: No problem Adam, they actually come with a worldwide basemap. I bought mine from the States and works fine. ( Much cheaper at the moment as well ). I used boatfix ( www.boatfix.com ).
  20. That would probably be the time spent "precison anchoring" maybe ? Seriously, running below 2000 RPM and the E-Tec is extremely frugal. Reason is they run on an incredibly weak fuel/air mixture ( can do this as no valves to destroy ). Hence the huge amount of cooling water they have running through them. I hope they have done their calculations correctly though and we dont end up burning a hole in the pistons

  24. Was that with or against the tide ? The other day was did the trip out against the tide and Back in against the tide. I had to change over tanks half way back ...... That is my 11 litre tank ( containing around 9 litres ) which I wanted to use up Overall consumption is similar to yours I suspect.
