the law is quite complex on salvage rights but as i understand it if you take another vessels rope then salvage can be claimed the amount usually a percentage of the vessels value taking in to account the risk the salvour was in to affect the rescue ie if a bot is broken down and is drifting onto a lee shore in deteriorating conditions and is towed to safety the salvour would get a bigger award than if the tow was from calm open waters where there was no immediate danger but only a few greedy people ever charge most are glad to help hopeing that the favour would be returned if needed

what on your sounder looks barren and featureless is often totally different when you get down there the ares off ballard has plenty of sand ridges and other features when i dived there several years ago i saw a tractor tyre a complete car exhaust system in among the sandy ridges which at 1m or so wouldnt show on sounders but held fish the same was true on the plaice mark off ventnor nothing but sand and shingle but plaice everywhere

the boats are not like the big game boats you would expect to see but seemed to be much of a muchness, i wouldnt swim in chalong bay if i were you and only drink bottled water and dont pay asking price for anything

metal petrol tanks should have an earth wire as should a metal filler cap on a built in tank to avoid static sparks from the nozzle of a petrol pump !! boooom !!!!

bob i is about in me workshop most evenings and in portland port most days but i do have a phone which i do answer sometimes , looking at the pictures the trickiest bit is matching the finish on the inside of the hull and the gell colour of the locker but i do think it is a bit of a test for a novice

bob with grp almost anything is possible given skill and enthusiasm but unless you know a bit about it get expert avice before cutting anything or be very brave !!!

having looked on the pandora site last year i would agree with gordon that a lot of the numbers are inaccurate even the weymouth dive site numbers vary in accuracy ps adam you havent even started yet !!!!!!!!!!
