adam drilling stainless you needv a slow speed with plenty of pressure use cutting oil such as lubysil slurry only cools lubysil acts as a cutting agent and cools the drill give us a shout if you have any probs the secret one

what do you call heavy / light wrecking last week i saw 20lb + ling saftly boated by a total novice with a new fladen solid carbon rod(the light one)an a penn 525 i found my 15lb ugly stik and 2000 charter special equally good tld 20 s etc are realy only needed for anchoring for conger where big leads etc are needed

paul i think you are getting your numbers muddled it used to be called perfection 709 it is now just perfection be carefull to use the correct undercoat it is best applied by spray or brushed on then rolled out immediatelywith a gloss sponge roller

whats worth trying if you are useing an alderney ring an the pick is stuck is to let the boat settle back and try towing it up the other sideof the boat as the anchor may be able to pivot out one way not the otherand by towing down the other side the pull is about 90 degrees different hope that makes sense

i found for my own boat about half asmelting pot of lead(about 10 lb) and about 18 inches of chain with the end hanging out the side and let it cool woked very well as for damageing the shambles the whole bank is on the move in the tide anyway so weights dont have any detrimental effect
