a tasty bit of yankee kit need a thorough examination though as some american boats i looked at were a bit flimsy in the build otherwise ok if you can afford the fuel bills
tie the anchor rope at the stern , decidedly iffy may be ok on a big boat at slack water but in an 18footer in any tide a definate no no under any circumstance
more likely to be stuck at the motor end helm is simple remove the cover plate off the back and the workings are there to see unusual for that to jam it normaly strips the teeth on the helm
best have another look the real story has been posted by the person concerned , it looks as though somebody was either confused or was making mischief (alegedly)
you will love scuba but it does make the fishing seem a bit dull at times but a lot more dangerous , also very labour intensive with several hours prep and cleaning up for an hour under water and it aint cheap
gundrys do commercial mono also andy at wac does heavy traceline in sensible sized spools at reasonable money(also knots ok no need for horrible crimps)
i have yet to find anyone who raves about jets they have plus points but plenty of minuses to cost of mainteance being chief among them i know of a work boat that the top speed new was 20knots after 3 months use in the silty north sea was down to 12 knots and the boat metioned in weymouth has had a few problems and very expensive ones at that coupled to the high running costs the purchase price is very high too with a decent one for 2 to 300 hp costing upto 10k cant beat a traditional shaft and prop
this may sound odd but make your own netting from mono some of the competitors in the world championships recently had their own nets made of mono that enabled them to net triple shots of bream without any chance of any of the hooks etc snagging the net
that rock does bite i have repaired an outdrive skeg that hit that baby a few times and also saw a triple engined sunseeker smash a drive clean off there best to keep 20 or 30 yards off the groin at low water or stay 200 yards off
have to make sure the eel is totaly knackered before gaffing in the bottom lip i had on of 55LB gaffed in the lower jaw during the weymouth conger festival it spun and tore itself off the gaff making a real mess of its jaw in the process so we had to keep it which was a pity so a net would seem the best option
