  4. Bait for a days breaming, ten squid, scuse the pun, Bolle sunglasses to view said bream, 100 quid, seeing crazy's face when he discovers that the little bit of string supplied to keep em round your neck when looking overboard isnt attatched................Priceless Rich
  5. No, the gay badger isnt working, you old shirt. What time are you thinking of launching Mark?? Is Markee B on a trailer, or mooring, do we know?? Ive just taken delivery of some size six VMC sport circles I'd like to try for the Bream..........tying rigs as we speak. Rich ........Im not too sure i like the Gay badger annotation mark
  6. Welcome aboard Roop....................snagged any spikey's yet?? Rich
  7. Gordon, floating beads, or pop ups are used frequently on the match scene these days, very brightly coloured, good for bait robbing crabs, superb for mackeral, first rate for gurnard too. Rich
  8. Gordy, seeing as you are a visitor to the state, state law says that you dont need a fish licence to fish from the beach, piers, floating pontoon docks, or other structures. If you take a boat out under charter, the skipper has paid his dues, and includes these in the cost of the charter. Be mindfull of size limits for snook and redfish, redfish are excellent eating, as are the sea trout, somewhat different to our sea trout. If you sneak up alongside pier stantions, or dock supports, have a look down and see if you can see Sheeoshead feeding. these look like our bream, but have distinct blue and black stripes. Easily caught with the big barnacles prised of the wooden posts, and hooked onto a size 4 or six. They steam off like trains, so a well set clutch is essntial....happy hooking!!!! Rich
  9. Gordon...I'd echo Matts advice........K Mart, Big K, and Walmart are by far the cheapest places to get tackle. Their braid is increadibly cheap, as are stormies, and plugs. Go into a Bass Pro shop, and check out their Rapalas........they have bargain bins, selling standaard Rapalas for a $ !!!!!!! they cost around eight quid here. You should have got an exchange of around $1.68-9 to the pound before you went, so its a good time to buy. Happy shopping...........another tip...find a tackle shop next door to a shoe and handbag outlet Mrs Manic wil love it!! Rich Ps Gordy, try and find a source out there for DO-IT moulds, and check out their prices please.......they retail at
  10. Roger that.
  11. Mikey, try and wrap a whole gurnard in foil, fill the belly cavity with a few herbs, and a slice of lemon or lime, and bake it in the oven.........well tasty. Or.........fill a casserole with a tin of chopped tomatoes, chopped basil, finely sliced n diced onion, slightly sweated, whole prawns, and two or three small gurnard cut into three inch sections, and bang that in the oven for 40 mins on a med heat.....now that is sluvvverly. Mind you, if you have a lobster pot, bait it with gurnard, and you are virtually guaranteed a lobster!!!! Rich
  12. James....just spoke to my uncle Tom who fishes out of Beaulieu River, and he says its total pants at the moment, and the weed has arived early and is horrendous. He's taking me out first week of June for a crack at the stinger record, were having a few evening trips to try and bag a thirty pounder, as his mark has produced some crackers last season. Will keep you informed via Message. Rich

  20. Alun, if it's anything like the ground of Alderney, its not where you fish, its just the exact time of tide you fish, finicky feeders!!! I expect tht you'll need to put a few hours in to grab that exact time. Rich
