Gordy, seeing as you are a visitor to the state, state law says that you dont need a fish licence to fish from the beach, piers, floating pontoon docks, or other structures. If you take a boat out under charter, the skipper has paid his dues, and includes these in the cost of the charter. Be mindfull of size limits for snook and redfish, redfish are excellent eating, as are the sea trout, somewhat different to our sea trout. If you sneak up alongside pier stantions, or dock supports, have a look down and see if you can see Sheeoshead feeding. these look like our bream, but have distinct blue and black stripes. Easily caught with the big barnacles prised of the wooden posts, and hooked onto a size 4 or six. They steam off like trains, so a well set clutch is essntial....happy hooking!!!!
