  1. Paul...............excellent service.............put me down for a tenners worth, will pay up at meeting on thursday, Regards...........Rich Ps...........As a newbie...........I'm still unsure who is who.........can you wear a carnation????????
  2. Adam.........if it helps, when I took out commercial cover for my Hi-Lux, they asked me if and how often I would be trailing........so I guess that you have to inform them. Cheers , Rich
  3. Bob, thanks for the map, see you there. I picked up the bait this morning, so I have 60 Rag, six mini slabs of sandeel, a box of squid, and a few Mackerel to boot..............hopefully there will be room ion the tackle box for my scoff! Rich
  4. Martin, thats fine, can u mail me directions to your slip, as I have never been there!! I will bring neoprene chesties, and rag, and a box of squid. I will see you Sunday........cheers, Rich
  5. Bob.......a little later in the year, the smoth hound and tope fishing around Langstone can be superb, so perhaps the research that has gone into this trip can be used for a later trip when different species run? Gavin reckons that the Plaice have not really returned to the harbour, and we are more likely to nail a few in Poole. Other skippers report catches in the Stanswood bay area, off Calshot, but again, few and far between. Sorry to bring bad tidings!!!! So...........for Sunday.......what time do you want me to come down, and where should I meet you guys?????? Ive ordered up 50 Rag, so if anyone is short, I will have spare. Cheers .............Rich
  6. Sunday is fine for me..............0630hrs at the Eastbound services it is then! Does anyone need bait??? I will collect mine from Poingdesters on Saturday before the Rugger...............COME ON ENGLAND! They have a huge selection of frozen bits, and fine Rag........so if anyone wants/needs specifics, post here, and I will sort it out...............and sheepishly........its the other slip that Gav was informing me about.................but at least we know for future!!!! ;0))))) Rich
  7. Oh......a few more wise words from my pal who uses the slip loads. If there is a big tide, apparently at the end of the shingle on the slip is a drop off of about 15 feet!!! Even locals have been known to lose trailers there! Forearmed is forewarned! Also, a method he uses for plaice fishing is to bung on a 5oz weight, drop it to the bottom, feel when it hits, wind in the spare line to the rod tip, so its in the water, then attatch a pike bung style float, and leave about 18 inches of hooklength trailing behind the float, hand line in the remainder, then bait up with worms - he never uses squid (???) - the mussel beds will snag your spoons and other terminal tackle. He has given me a few options of where to fish, so if your marks fail, we have a back up in the armoury! Cheers.................Rich
  8. Martin............I dont know if Bob has me on another boat.....but I am deff available, and would like to accompany someone on the day.............cheers Rich
  9. Hi, will this be third time lucky Bob?? I am provisionaly confirming availability for crew for both days..............Deb moaned that I'm out next week as well.........but hey!!!!!!!!!! So unless I hear different, I will see you and the motley crew in the Eastbound service area, anytime form 0630hrs onwards.........If we meet up, I will hand over the Dartmouth chart for whoever needs to view it for the Dartmouth trip, but will leave you to decide where it goes Bob, ok?? Also, do you want any marks for Langstone, as I will download some from my pals chart plotter if need be.................moenchengladbach, as they say in Germany Rich
  10. Ok Adam.............I will bring the chart down to the next meeting, so that you can peruse before the trip. Do you have a slipway in mind??? Again, I can check will my pal Nige for the best launch site, if you dont have any local contacts. My GPS is empty, but I will get marks from the lads, ok??
  11. Bob, I have a 2000 copy of chart no.SC1613 (Eddystone Rocks to Berry Head) which covers all of Start Bay, which you are welcome to borrow, I also have a few marks on the Skerries from historic trips out of Dartmouth with my old club, Kingsbridge SAC. We used long traces with baited spoons, quite large ones, and had mixed results. One trip we had nil takes untill 40 mins to steaming home, then the fish went mad and we boated over twenty decent plaice, but no larger species. If you want, I will call my pal down there, as the club will have already gone out on the banks by now, to see what the score is thus far. I'll also check my hand held GPS for any marks I have on it for you, ok? Regards...........Rich PS.........I'm still availabubble for crew!!!! ;0)))))))
  12. Guys.........seeing as this will be my first fishing venture across the channel, does anyone have clues as to the type of rigs we should be making for the trip, and how much should we beef them up??? Cheers...........Rich
  13. Cheers guys.............noted
  14. If anyone needs crew............I'm available, great fishing down there! Rich
  15. I dont know if itys just me, but since starting to visit this site I have had an enourmous increase of dubious mails containing stuff like "re your pics" and "re your mail" and its coming from fishit domains etc. Thes emails carry an attatchment that contains another new virus, so buyer beware!!!!!!!!! Being a new member to the club, and therefore new to this site, it may have already been adressed by yourselves, and I'm just slow on the uptake............nothing new there ;0) Cheers guys.................Rich
  16. ....................Reading the latest threads...........not really knowing what I've let myself in for with this bunch of motly troops!!! Bob............this end look decidely iffy weather wise foir saturday.......but if you do decide to venture out into the harbour, I will be able to come, call me on the mobile number, I'm on the river today in salterton, so may or may not get a signal.......just so I can grab some bait for the morning, thats all. Cheers chap..................rich
  17. Hi guys............weather forecast this end is gales for fri and sat...........and langstone isnt the plaice (oops) for iffy conditions. I am available if anyone needs crew.........Bob, if you want, I will call my m8 who is skipper of the police launch for that area, he can offer his six eggs if you wish??? Rich
  18. Shame about the date!!!! I have my boys visiting from N. Ireland that week, so am unable to offer availability as Buddy for that trip.........have never fished the mark before so will watch this space!!! Tight lines .... Rich
  19. Hi Bob, Re this sundays tyrip out of Hayling, Can I attend and fish if there are any spaces on any boats please???? (As luck would have it, I live just above the Services!!!!!!). If its any use............I'm sorry to report that my pal who runs a twin lochin out of the harbour down there doesnt rate the chances of plaice at all in that area.....and he reckons its too early. I'm no expert down that way, we normally go out on the Needles ground, or went around to ventnor in the heydays of massive plaice out there. Do you want me to ask him for some marks out that way, over the banks or something??? Anyway, hope all is well, and hope there is space for an amater on one of the boats. I'm off for a pint tonight, so call me on the mobile if you want, cheers Bob......................Richard
